Cricket picks up Samsung's MyShot II

We didn't know the lowly MyShot had developed enough brand cachet to warrant a sequel, but sure enough, the MyShot II has gotten very, very real for value carrier Cricket. Like the model before it, the MyShot II packs a 1.3 megapixel camera and tops out with 1x data; in fact, the only real improvement here seems to be the styling, which arguably looks a little more modern. It supports AWS CDMA -- as all Cricket phones do these days -- and can be yours (hence the "My" in "MyShot") contract-free for $139.99 after rebate.

Alltel boasts Samsung's SCH-R430 MyShot in black or red

Sure, Alltel's Samsung SCH-R430 MyShot may not be laden with every bell and whistle that cell manufacturers can bestow on a device, but for $30 bones after rebate, who cares? This looks to be the ideal Ma and Pa cellular vehicle with 205 mins talk and 215 hours standby time -- so it's always charged when retrieved from the glovebox -- a 1.3 megapixel camera, and is even GPS-capable. Color choices include Metallic Red and Basic Black, so a his and hers arrangement isn't out of the question -- we think that's just about the cutest thing a couple can do. The read link will get you to the product page if you're itching to know more

Cricket emits SCH-r430 MyShot / SCH-r210 Spex AWS handsets

The collection of AWS handsets just keeps getting bigger, as Cricket is announcing a pair of its own in the SCH-r430 MyShot and SCH-r210 Spex. As for the former, you can expect a flip phone design, 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, web browsing / messaging capabilities and oodles of mundaneness. As for the candybar-styled Spex, you'll find built-in Bluetooth, a 1.5-inch 128 x 128 resolution display, speakerphone support and little more. Granted, both phones are tri-band -- meaning that they'll play nice in PCS, Cellular and AWS markets -- and thankfully, you won't be asked to take out a second mortgage to call one your own. The duo is available now for $149.99 and $119.99, respectively.
