Unsubsidized iPhone 3G priced at €499/€569 in Europe {Engadget}
Jun 12th 2008 10:15AM No, the price hasn't been determined yet.
I myself am outside my 'eligible upgrade' period. According to ATT, I may be eligible in June of 2009, maybe a true 2nd-generation iPhone will be out by then, mmm?
Honestly, I'm also trying to figure out why everyone seems so stumped by this. It's simple. Apple and ATT are no longer selling and activating iPhones the previous way. They are now treating the iPhone as a regular cell phone. No different than buying a razr 2 or a Tilt.
To answer questions about 'how much it's going to be?' - no one knows. But if previous subsidies are any indication, I wouldn't be surprised if the price jumps back to the previous $399/$499 for non-upgrade eligible customers. $150-$200 seems to be the norm when it comes to subsidies.
That being said. I'm getting the iPhone 3G. If the subsidy is too high for me to justify paying for it, one my other lines is upgrade eligible in July 2008. I'm getting this phone because, it will change the game. It definitely will. I know alot of people are saying "o, it's not much of an upgrade" and "o, it's only worth it if you live in a 3G area". True, it is practically only a case and cellular radio change - but HSDPA will be huge on this phone, more so than other phones, and for many reasons. And the truth is, ATT's 3G network is about to be completed in every major metropolitan market in the US. I'm excited for this phone, and ramifications that will most certainly follow.

So please tell me why we still don't have copy and paste, no MMS, no A2DP stereo BT streaming, but we have the wondrous ability to play video in portrait mode.

Inside Line learns Lexus LF-A to be priced over $200k {Autoblog}
May 21st 2008 12:44PM Nah. The Ferrari Dino (yes, I'm calling it a Dino.) looks miles above this overpriced RWD Solara coupe.
But you know what, someone will buy it. I mean, someone bought into the fake-luxo coupe idea that is the SC430, right?

Yeah but, the NSX also UNDERCUTTED the competition also. I completely agree with your point, and I loved the NSX because it brought Honda real-life sensibility to supercars, but it was still cheaper than a comparable Italian supercar.
This on the other hand, is a dumb move. C'mon. Toyota thinks it can charge just as much as a Merc SL for its SC, but which one dominates the super-luxo coupe market?
I think Toyota's got a little too big of a head.
Fiat considering plant in Mexico {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 10:21PM Fiat, please.
Focus more on being able to even sell a car in the United States first. Your cars may be selling like hotcakes in Europe, but all I've been seeing is vaporcars for the past few years from you guys.
Then worry about building a plant.

G*ddamnit Toyota. Just make the f*cking Supra already. Stop with these grand delusions of competing with M3's (IS-F) and Ferrari's (LF-A) and just make the 350Z/Mustang/RX-8/Base Corvette killing Supra we all know you guys can make.
