Starbucks to close 600 stores {BloggingStocks}

Jul 2nd 2008 8:20AM Starbucks company CEO living in luxury pulling down a multi-million dollar salary with plenty of perks, yet young working-class people just struggling to survive day-to-day are getting laid off. Unfair times we live in.

Apple could create headaches for Garmin and TomTom {BloggingStocks}

Jul 1st 2008 5:45PM I'm not sure it will be much fun driving while trying to follow a blue dot on the iPhone screen. Unless the iPhone gets an application for turn-by-turn voice navigation, I don't think the iPhone is much of a challenger to Garmin or TomTom.

Nokia E66 mini-review {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 30th 2008 9:39AM First off.... Meh. non-iPhone. Secondly. Meh.

Apple Notebook Shipments Skyrocket 61% {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 29th 2008 11:21PM The good news is that Apple is going great guns on all fronts with no end in sight. The bad news is that Apple's stock price will continue to fall with all the other tech stocks.

Apple (AAPL) gets close to a deal to sell iPhones in China {BloggingStocks}

Jun 29th 2008 9:21AM Apple probably won't be able to sell more than a few million iPhones to China mainland this year, but hopefully they'll do a lot better over the next couple of years. The carrier contracts must be terribly taxing for the Chinese user.

Nokia N85 in the wild! {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 9th 2008 1:37PM That's a half-way decent looking handset with excellent camera specs and fairly well-featured, however....

Nokia's feeble attempt to steal 3G iPhone's thunder. It's back to the drawing board for them.
Check out the real deal: http://www.techcrunch.com/

Dammit! I got another Low-Rank due to being an obnoxious Apple fanboi. Who woulda thunk it.

Samsung Instinct hands-on {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 7th 2008 6:01PM Nice little handset. I enjoyed the unboxing and review on video. Unfortunately it's just too little, too late for Samsung. People will be dumping their Sprint contracts just to get to AT&T.

Sprint's iPhone competitor to require $70 monthly bill {BloggingStocks}

Jun 2nd 2008 12:16PM The Instinct does kinda work like the iPhone and is shaped like the iPhone. However it runs WinMo and not OS X so that's where any similarity ends. It doesn't sync to the iTunes Media Store nor will it have access to the integrated App Store. In other words, it's just a handset that stands by itself like all the other iPhone wanabees. The Instinct might be packed with more features than the current iPhone, but will not have more hardware features than the 3G iPhone.

The Instinct has little present and no future, maybe like Sprint itself.

Research in Motion picks up smartphone share at Apple's expense {BloggingStocks}

May 31st 2008 11:58PM Unbelievable. It's like the author hasn't heard of the nearly 70 countries the iPhone will be released in this year or that the potential iPhone users is close to 700,000,000 subscribers (without mainland China, Russia, Japan and Korea). Please be aware that RIM has nothing close to the iTunes Media Store for delivering apps, movies, TV programs, games and music to handset users.

And for browsing the internet, forget BlackBerry. The only thing the iPhone is lacking is RIM's encrypted server which is definitely a powerful tool for RIM. Still, the iPhone has only been in existence a year and the BlackBerry has been around for many years. Yet, I'm confident iPhone sales will exceed BlackBerry sales within another year and a half if not sooner.

This slight loss of iPhone sales will not even matter by the end of the year. 12 million iPhones sold will be a certainty.

Lessons for investors in the woes of the New York Yankees and Mets {BloggingStocks}

May 28th 2008 11:28PM Still early in the season yet. I have to admit that the Yankees do suck. I guess I consider myself a Yankee fan but I still want the Mets to do well as a New York team.

Playing .500 this early in the season isn't terrible except for the fact that the players are worth more than their weight in gold. You might hope that their in first place from the first game to the last and win the World Series. Won't happen. Never will. I think today's players must be muscle-bound since they're always pulling something. It's like they don't stretch or warm up properly. Good for them, since they can rest on the bench more and lengthen their careers.
