Nov 16th 2009 8:11PM Root gives you a deeper level of access so you can more things with it than most manufactures want you to do. Whether you can take advantage of it is another matter, but the community will be active on your behalf.
Its far from a perfect phone but it does enough and like the form factor, so hope to get one soon to replace my ageing E71.
Reading the comments here today is enough to make you stop reading blogs altogether, bunch of morons, its a phone and you either like it or dont.
