AT&T adds Verizon's Island of Misfit Toys holiday ads to lawsuit, demands they be yanked off the air {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 12th 2009 2:21PM SERIOUSLY?!?!?
Is this a joke?
Does anyone in America REALLY give a crap when you have the two biggest carriers (both raep customers in terms of cost) fighting over coverage? Both have great coverage, and both totally suck in terms of either 3G coverage or how data is billed (differently on different phones). SHUT UP ALREADY BOTH OF YOU AT&T AND VERIZON!
Now...
I think just to be fair, Verizon needs to specifically mention or show that AT&T does offer near 3G speeds in many "blank" areas with the iPhone, rather then show no coverage. But then again, this is a 3G comparison, so maybe AT&T should shut up and stop spending money on attorneys and more on coverage buildout.
T-Mobile to myFaves: 'Good day, sir; I said good day' {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 9th 2009 10:40PM I was all about the MyFaves for a few months on FlexPay. I mean 300 Anytime Minutes, Unlimited Night and Weekends, but 5 people I totally called all day and all night for $49.99 was the right price for me. Sure Unlimited is $49.99 and its a great price, but Ill miss MyFaves.
I have Pick 5 on Sprint (I use for all my Google Voice numbers and home lines for family), Any Mobile Anytime (which in my case is like having unlimited minutes, since EVERYONE I call is Mobile) 450 Minutes plus 60 Bonus (for life), lets not forget to mention Unlimited Data (more features then T-Mobile offers like Radio/TV/Navigation) and Unlimited Messaging, for $10 less then the T-Mobile price for Unlimited Minutes, but unlike T-Mobile, I get 25% off my bill, so it brings my price down to the $59 level after tax.
Its a tough decision but I MIGHT use T-Mobile for a back up on my BB Tour.
Verizon chief says offering the iPhone is Apple's call {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 26th 2009 3:22PM Is this a news story, or just a commentary?
Cause its not news, we already know about it everyday when the AT&T and Verizon and Apple fan boys remind us that its not on Verizon and "it will be soon". Its been 2.5 years, and its not happened, so "soon" cant be said anymore.
And its written like a commentary, simply because its telling us what again, we already know... nothing new here other then Verizon CEO hinting that they want it and its up to Apple to produce it. Apple doesnt want to produce a NON-GSM technology phone for ONE major carrier thats been pining after it. Hell Telus and Bell Canada went HSPA and carry it now...why didnt Verizon and Sprint team up and do something? Why didnt Verizon team up with AT&T and co-brand it?
Simply stating the obvious...yet again.
Verizon asks 'if the iDoesn't, what does?' {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 17th 2009 3:45PM For a company that complains that they should have had the iPhone (and passed), and sits here and talks about themseves getting the iPhone when LTE launches, they sure do talk lots of trash about it.
If I was Apple, Id prevent them from getting it ever. Why? Just cause Id not want a company that consistantly bashes my product to push it in their line up.
T-Mobile's Motorola CLIQ presale countdown page is up and running {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 29th 2009 2:02PM Change your title... its not PRESALE, its REGISTERING FOR PRESALE. Not the same thing.
Website rates best and worst cellphones by radiation output levels -- how does yours stack up? {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 27th 2009 10:04AM All this means is that the "bad" phones actually put out more power... more power = better reception. Frankly T-Mobile needs all the reception they can get.
Notice 7 of the "good" phones are on AT&T/CellularONE... we all know they have reception issues.
Notice that most of the "bad" phones are on Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon...We all know they have GREAT reception, save T-Mobile which NEEDS a "bad" phone to get the best reception possible.
So all this means to me, is I should stick with buying phones that radiate more power if I want to actually have the best.
Samsung's Instinct HD lands itself a quick video hands-on {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 25th 2009 10:18AM I hate short previews... it makes the phone look unresponsive and bad.
When people actually do long previews, like PhoneDog, the interviewer makes sure to set up the phone so it does what people want to see on camera.
OBVIOUSLY the accelerometer is not on, or was not set for the keyboard. But that doesnt mean its bad, people.... I know there is gonna be comments.
New study says Palm Pre second only to iPhone 3GS in mindshare {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 24th 2009 9:06AM There is a lot of people that say "Majority rules", but as we all know, and have learned; sometimes the majority isnt right.
It always also seems that only 10% of the worlds population is smart, and we all are in that group, and 90% have no common sense.
All Im saying here is that just because a lot of people say or think a Pre or iPhone is "Smart" doesnt make it so. Just because a lot of people say that a Pre or iPhone makes them more productive, doesnt mean it really does.
AT&T's 3G MicroCell site goes live {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 21st 2009 2:08AM Why does AT&T need this?
Thought they had the largest voice and data coverage of all carriers... More bars more places....
Guess I was wrong and AT&T admits it.
