New York Times calls iPhone the 'Hummer of cellphones' {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 3rd 2009 2:12PM If they lowered the rate because they're not able to support all these users, then more people would get the data plans which would only make the problem worse.
They need to stop advertising either the iPhone or AT&T in areas where they've reached a limit.
Leaked AT&T doc slams the Palm Pre {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 22nd 2009 1:46PM It doesn't say "limited WiFi access" it says "limited free WiFi access"
Motorola Atila gets leaked: think Alexander sans QWERTY {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 11th 2008 2:06PM It's too bad this thing is Windows Mobile. As much as the RAZR has long over-stayed its welcome, it would have been fun to see a screen keyboard that had a similar futuristic look to it.
iPhone hacker says the device 'calls home' to Apple, allows apps to be remotely disabled {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 7th 2008 10:34AM It seems like Apple just has the ability to turn off a program *if they need to*. I think it's smart of them to build that in, there's nothing inherently evil about it. It's not like you're adding programs to your iPhone directly from a computer. Everything comes through Apple, meaning they're reponsible for everything that gets put onto your phone (and I don't mean legally, just in the eyes of its users and the public/press), and if something goes wrong, like a virus slips through one of their programs, they're able to do something about it for everyone. If there was something bad in one of the programs from the App Store and Apple couldn't do anything about it, then people would just as easily cry foul.
Samsung's SGH-i900 comes clean in new photos, looks expensive {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 3rd 2008 11:32AM Can at least one of these phones come out without having a chrome border around the outside? Come on, even when everyone started ripping off the RAZR they at least made an effort to not look exactly like one. Even though most of it is a screen, they can do different things with that border. Maybe Apple will have to be the first one to step away from their own designs...
Not even Adobe knows when Flash is coming to the iPhone {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 22nd 2008 2:59PM How come you guys are blaming Apple for there being no Flash support in the iPhone? Doesn't Adobe have a history of not cooperating with Apple?
Eye-Fi hands-on, impressions {Engadget}
Nov 1st 2007 2:39PM Hmm... I usually just have iPhoto grab all the photos from my camera. There really isn't any other automated way unless you delete unnecessary photos from your camera before plugging it in, besides just having iPhoto not import your photos and manually grabbing them from your memory card onto your computer. I just import all straight into iPhoto and organize them there. That's what iPhoto is for.
I also have a Flickr Pro account so it stores full-resolution versions of my photos (so other people can print them out and for archiving purposes) and Flickr makes smaller-sized versions of them automatically.
Seems like both home and Flickr use would be great with this card, as long as I had some control of when the uploading happens (and which photos get uploaded for Flickr... maybe have the card set to not upload locked photos?).
Snooze cellphone concept features dedicated alarm clock {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 4th 2007 3:14PM I know a lot of people that use their cell phone as an alarm clock. Making it better at the alarm function sounds like a great idea. It would be nice if instead of LED that bottom had a nicer screen that could show a little more info (vibrate mode, signal strength, date...).
Gateway One gets official {Engadget}
Sep 27th 2007 1:43PM No one has mentioned yet that Gateway bought eMachines, makers of the eOne, which had to be discontinued after being sued by Apple because of its uncanny similarities to the iMac: http://www.answers.com/topic/emachines?cat=technology
