Motorola registers 'Backflip' name, could be for the Motus {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 25th 2009 6:33PM I can't think of a good reason QWERTY handsets don't hinge in reverse.
All I can think of is good reasons for them too. No added bulk of a second screen and the rumored trackpad navigation this is supposed to have.
I guess we'll see when its actually all said and done. It sounds like a great idea to me. Just wish it wasn't such a bottom barrel phone it was ending up on.
Nokia N900 drops to $480 on Amazon {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 20th 2009 9:27AM Well its still on track for a t-mobile release isn't it?
Eventually it will have be subsidized. Maybe not at European levels but probably enough to hold off on if you don't mind re-upping.
Motorola Motus spied, snapped by the worst camera in history? {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 20th 2009 12:39AM Took me forever to figure out what was going on with the keyboard. Someone at BGR finally did it for me.
The keyboard is the back of the phone. Thats why the camera is on the keyboard (see the 5.0 megapixel part under the yellow part?).
I think its awesome and can't wait to see it in better shots. That makes soooo much sense to me I can't believe Moto was the first one to come up with it. I'm really interested in seeing if the buttons retain any function while closed. Seems like it would be a great way for phones to keep their minimal fronts while still giving people another way to navigate. Of course there would have to be some kind of "palm check" so you're not pushing them while using the phone in other ways but if they could figure something out it would be quite cool.
Keepin' it real fake, part CCXXXII: Nokla strikes again with E81 rehash {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 16th 2009 11:27AM Isn't this how VZW's next Nokia is supposed to work?
Maybe they know something we don't.
Motorola Morrisson with T-Mobile 3G and UMA hits the FCC {Engadget}
Jul 29th 2009 11:47PM I don't think it is.
There was talk at one point about the Morrison being the G1v2 but I think that was cleared up and they're two different phones.
LG releases first official shots of BL40 "New Chocolate" {Engadget}
Jul 29th 2009 11:36PM No, not this phone, This phone is a GSM phone. As have been all of LG's black label phones.
There is a chocolate touch supposedly coming out but its not clear if the two are related. VZW doesn't really get all the LG's as you put it, they just feature prominently in their line up and so people tend to associate them.

Jul 29th 2009 11:34PM Why do you say its a "dumbphone"?
They're introducing a whole app store with this too you know.
Samsung Omnia II gets banded for US 3G, but it's not for the US {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 24th 2009 1:23PM Because some one might still use one here.
It happens all the time. Phones that are never going to see the light of day here get approved.
CellScope, the cellphone microscope, gets UV upgrade to spot tiny glowing things {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 22nd 2009 11:59AM Took me forever to figure out why there was that picture on the phone.
I'm sitting here saying "why do they have a picture from ultraviolet on the phone. That movie was terrible". Then it clicked. If I wasn't getting off at noon today it would be a long day.
Motorola Morrison gets pictured running Android {Engadget}
Jul 21st 2009 3:54PM I've been wondering that too.
The X3 is set up the same way as far as physical buttons. Maybe its a new standard set up for donut?
Thats defiantly not a standard android build. Many of those icons don't match what I have.
