BT hits the sauce, mulls return to mobile market {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 27th 2009 8:32AM Not so sure where the observer is going with this one. BT have been operating as an MVNO for years, first on O2, and then on Vodafone. They are also already selling the broadband dongles, using the same huawei models as everyone else.

Granted, most of the BT customers are either business customers who have their business broadband with BT already, or home customers who have home phone and broadband with them, but for them to say that there is no BT Mobile business is a bit odd.

Either whoever wrote this article for the observer doesn't know of what they speak, or they need to elaborate on the 'concerns' that they cite in their article.

Nokia: mobile TV success is a little harder than we thought {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 16th 2008 6:05AM Added screw up here in the UK:

Anyone who wants to receive live TV broadcasts needs a TV license, even if they don't physically own a TV.

Granted, most people in the UK already have a TV license, but it has failed to take of in any major way in the UK for various reasons, but this is one of them.
I believe the government wanted to charge the networks a blanket license fee to cover this.

T-Mobile trotting out monster-spec MDA compact IV {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 5th 2008 5:54AM @MBN

I Doubt this will have a slide out keyboard as the MDA compact line in the EU has always been devices without a keyboard.

They tend to release the devices with a slide out keyboard under the MDA Vario brand.

With the shape of it and the flsuh touch screen, i still think it looks like a new variant of the Polaris. At least T-Mobile EU aren't removing the Wifi Hardware in this one, like they did from the Excalibur and the Artemis!
