Chrome OS like lightning from a USB key: we could get used to this {Engadget}
Nov 24th 2009 10:31PM I was able to log in okay, and my wifi card worked... sort of. It detected my network but when I tried to authenticate, it didn't do anything. So, maybe the authentication protocol isn't working properly and it works okay without network authentication, but for most people, this is not a possibility (to go without network encryption). Did anyone else have this problem?
IBM simulates cat's brain, humans are next {Engadget}
Nov 18th 2009 11:55AM I can vaguely hear the intro music to "Ghost in the Shell." Oh wait, that's just me playing an MP3 inside my head :)
--------------
I cannot wait for the day that we successfully create a stable, fully functional and commercially available, brain-computer interface (BCI). This is certainly a giant step in the right direction. This is really, really awesome! :D
Facebook finally comes to webOS, not with a bang but a whimper {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 16th 2009 1:39AM MAJOR reason to NOT update:
if you use the Pre on another network other than Sprint, 1.3.1 breaks the data settings used to get data provisioning and authentication on the alternate network. This is the case for Verizon. It seems like a problem with the PPP script. So if you use your Pre on VZW, DONT update.

Verizon takes another swing at AT&T, puts iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys {Engadget}
Nov 8th 2009 3:23PM LOL! These made me laugh, hard. Funny thing is, the ads are absolutely true - AT&T's 3G coverage is a real crap shute.
How would you change Windows Mobile 6.5? {Engadget}
Nov 7th 2009 1:32AM Make it more efficient. Similar to the overhaul of Windows from Vista to 7, make the RAM footprint much smaller and streamline system processes so that you reduce strain,
CPU and power consumption. And please make sure you only deploy WinMo on devices with at least 1 GB of RAM :)
DROID mania sweeps the nation, so to speak {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 6th 2009 11:48AM That's a real shame. The droid has great potential. Maybe they should have waited until tomorrow? As someone who is really into tech, I really understood and appreciated the Verizon Wireless "iDont, DroidDoes" commercials. But I can definitely see how the general public would not understand half of what the commercial highlighted:
- "iDon't customize"
- "iDon't have widgets"
- "iDon't have open development"
This phone is going to be a home run, out-of-the park hit among those who love mobile devices and follow the latest advances and releases in mobile operating systems. But like klmsu19 said, many people still don't even know what the Android mobile OS is. However, I have a feeling by this time next year a heck of a lot more people will know what Android is; the "droid" invasion is just beginning. Sure thing, legions of android (phones, PMP's, netbooks, etc.) will be steadily released across the globe all through next year. Even the military is using it to some extent. Apple should be thinking of some sort of plan to compete with Android because the momentum is building...
