T-Mobile webConnect available today, carrier's first 3G modem {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 27th 2009 5:01PM It is a shame that it will only be useful in about 5% of the US (geographically). I bet they get a bunch of returns when people get those things home and realize what T-Mobile's 3G coverage map really looks like.

HTC Magic (Sapphire) with T-Mobile USA logo hits the FCC {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 27th 2009 4:58PM I would expect to see 4G coverage rolled out en masse by VZW and Sprint before you see a nationally competitive T-Mobile 3G network. T-Mobile is like the K-Mart of wireless carriers. You save your bucks and get what you pay for. It is a solid model and nothing wrong for those who don't mind waiting for the other carriers hand-me-downs. It is hard to be cutting edge and cheap at the same time, ask Sprint how they are doing financially and where they are on that WiMax network. The $50 unlimited plans are pretty cool, but, ATT/Verizon aren't in danger until T-Mobile puts together a quality network though.

Apple, AT&T get sued for misleading 3G claims, again {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 20th 2009 5:05PM Verizon has more customers than AT&T, so what data are you using to state that Verizon has nowhere near as much traffic as AT&T? The difference in AT&T and Verizon is that Verizon has more towers and bandwidth in the majority of areas where it competes with AT&T. That and their are confirmed issues with the IPhone3G that was supposedly fixed in a patch. Remember Verizon first passed on the IPhone for these reasons along with a number of others (arguments over customer service control, profit sharing, etc.). On top of that the first IPhone lacked 3g because it simply wasn't ready to go. Apple may be the wiz at marketing and interfaces, but they still make a terrible phone when you look at it based on its merrits as a phone. The IPhone will peak with 3.0 unless Apple opens up to other carriers.

Netbook buyer blows by 5GB limit on AT&T data plan, sues {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 4th 2009 10:07AM It takes a minute to research AT&T's plans which clearly state it is not an unlimited plan. People posting that the companies are advertising unlimited plans need to post some links or gtfo, cause you are lying.

New copy / paste paradigm in the works for Storm? {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 26th 2009 6:53PM VZW has all ready had one official patch released. The patches reported here are alphas or betas and are not releases. I guess next you will be calling on microsoft to release Windows 7, WinMo 6.5 and WinMo 7.0 since it is currently under various phases of development.

Verizon laying off sales reps around the country {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 10th 2009 5:57PM I hate to see this happen, and I imagine if CC didn't fold these actions would not have happened to the extent they did. Those who were on bad terms with the company to start with wont be back, but Verizon is good about getting their people back when the opportunity arises. It is sad that so many people were displaced due to Circuit City failing, but moving them all into direct locations just isn't feasable for a number of reasons, if you are too short sighted to understand that, than so be it. Don't go back to work for them when they call.

Communications Workers of America authorizes strike of 20,000 AT&T workers, could happen soon {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 7th 2009 5:57PM It probably doesn't help that people at other carriers make more money and have better benefits than you too. Of course getting beat year after year in customer service by these same companies actually means that the fair market is winning despite union efforts. Oh noes they want us to do what our competitors are doing to ensure a good customer experience... Let's strike. AT&T is the next Sprint, if it wasn't for the IPhone your numbers would have been horrid.
