Feb 16th 2009 8:26AM The hexigon is used to see if there are more icons or not - not to make the icons easier to press. It's super easy to see if you're at the top, middle or bottum of a list.
If you have a hard time hitting the (rather large) icons with your fingers I suggest you buy a Doro Doro mobile for blind people.
