Nov 20th 2009 10:41AM I really don't like it. In fact I hate it, I don't like coming here anymore. The design is too "busy", it distracts you from the blogs themselves. I feel like I have to now visually search for a few seconds before my eyes fall on to the blogs and I can start reading. With the previous layout, it was just "there".

Nov 17th 2009 11:47AM Dude, that's the whole point! No raid, no Gigabite Ethernet, no wifi, just one HD bay! Cheaper NAS. And I have a feeling that a print server doesn't serve files........ just printers.....
Although, gigabite ethernet would have been nice.

Admittedly it doesn't include the drive in the box itself. But it's still smaller.

Oct 23rd 2009 2:34PM That's pretty cool. I have the RTM ultimate installed with the beta keys, i'm most likely going to get a student copy as soon as I can figure out where to get it in Canada, which I doubt will be ultimate. So I may have to do an in-place upgrade install of the release to "downgrade" the version for my key to work.

Oct 23rd 2009 2:11PM There was (or rather is) a little trick that I did a number of times to get around the whole "forced upgrade path" thing for the betas, RC and RTM versions.
Here's what I'm talking about, I'm quite sure there is a way to do this even for what you're wanting:

Oct 23rd 2009 1:38PM It's funny how many people chime in to anything wrong that Microsoft or Apple has go wrong, no matter how small.
Vista was crap, SP1 made it ok but it was still a resource hog. In terms of performance and most ways that matter, Win7 is actually very good. Realistically it's the only product besides the Xbox360 that is really worth buying from Microsoft.
No I'm not a fanboy, I actually don't like M$. If I must be called a fanboy of something, it'd be Linux.
Anyways my BIGGEST gripe with Win7 (and Vista for that matter) is the WDDM in that it no longer allows Horizontal Spanning of the desktop. Lame.

240hz is not a joke. It will be VERY crucial for when 3D content starts becoming common (once we have a standard agreed upon).
Most content, if not all (the fps to be specific) can be divided into 120 to have true smooth motion, but once you get into 3D which requires a min of 60hz per eye you need more. 60hz per eye equals 120hz total, but 60hz per eye gives us choppy motion again. So for 120hz per eye you need the 240hz TV.
