Apple patents adaptive volume controls based on environment, not quality of your music {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 23rd 2009 8:19AM My BMW has this so I think it will be difficult for Apple to get a patent on it. In fact my 1999 BMW had this technology. If you drove faster and the wind noise increased, or if you were driving on a loud road, the volume would increase on the stereo.

Sprint keeping a watchful eye on G1, will offer Android when it's good and ready {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 12th 2008 8:28AM According to Packingham, "We've just got to make sure our customers are saying, 'If you had a phone like this, man, I would really be more interested in Sprint because of it. You want to go out with a bang, because you believe that your investment is one that's going to generate a lot of return with customers -- new customers."

This is what kills me! I've been with Sprint for 8 years and I've already sent them a letter stating that I will be jumping ship in May if they do not have a good Android handset on the horizon. They better stop worrying just about new customers and start worry about the few they have left. If Sprint can do something to stem the exodus I think the same actions will also bring in new customers.
