Google says it's now blocking 'fewer than 100' numbers in Google Voice {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2009 9:52AM Google Voice regardless of it being free is not excluded from the fees other Telcos have to pay. If any of the regular Telcos have to pay connection fees and cannot discriminate, why should Google be excluded? Telcos lose money and would rather not have to connect, but that is the law and this is what Google is trying to circumvent.
Your argument about MVNOs is not solid. If you look around almost all MVNOs are out of business. When you look at the lower pricing they offer, you've got to look at their balance sheet and how much they've lost. Also, their is an wholesale agreement that may allow them to reduce the price plan. Many companies would offer lower plans or phone prices to attract market share, but as the subscribers grow, there will likely be an increase in fees.
Google, if it wants to act as a Telco, should not discriminate against customers trying to connect to others.
btw: I'm just waiting for an anti-trust/anti-competitive suit against Google.
webOS SDK bemoaned by iPhone developer as Palm seeks game API engineers {Engadget}
Jul 20th 2009 5:36PM you've got to realize that Apple wasn't always this lucrative and in fact got kicked in the sales butt for quite sometime. They researched, came back with new OS 10 and then OS X that people like. Palm just went through that period (maybe it's not over), but new devices like Pro and Pre show Palm has what it takes to compete.
Everyone talks about how Palm is not innovating, but copying Apple cos the new guys at Palm where from Apple. Hmmm! Interesting. Talented people typically don't stay in one place; they get bored or want more money and move on.
I like some of the features of the iPhone and the love fest it has, and want to own a Pre. I guess I am waiting for both to have an affair and spawn an iPre. They can even genetically fuse with HTC and birth an iPreFlow

Jul 14th 2009 11:18AM hmmm! This is a good deal, so was the AT&T and Verizon deals where you actually pay something for the Netbook, but the Sprint deal of 99cents was bad. Engadget FAIL.
Next: buy an iPhone, get a netbook free. Engadget declares it the best deal on the planet.
Sprint first to offer a 99-cent netbook, but is it worth it? {Engadget}

Feb 16th 2009 5:19PM The government should require Mortgage companies to gurantee that every mortgage applicant go through a few hours of credit counselling before signing up for a mortgage. This should apply especially to first time home buyers. This idea is from a friend of mine, so the credit's not mine

Feb 2nd 2009 11:00PM get over yourself.
It's good to see Sprint getting a cool phone for the iDEN network; probably the best I have seen. It's also a step in the right direction for Moto. I would like to see one of these with a rubberized surface like the HTC touch.
Sprint's HTC Touch Pro now available for purchase online, as promised {Engadget}
Nov 2nd 2008 9:02PM Electronics are made en masse so sometimes one in a batch is messed up. Call the tech support and see if they can repair/exchange it.
I have the Touch on the Sprint network and it's being good for me. It's based on WInMo so I have had to reboot it. There are TouchFlo mods to allow it to work like the Diamond. I would defintely buy another HTC phone in the future - their products have a blend of style and innovation
