The issue may be poor coverage. I went to Yosemite park and I got 5 bars on my ATT phone while
my buddy's Sprint phone got out of service.

it means Apple can't sell iPhone to other carriers in the US. AT&T does sell BB phones.
They just don't sell many WinMo phones for obvious reason. People don't want them!
