Breakfast Topic: Five years {WoW}

Nov 23rd 2009 3:56PM I've been playing since January of '05. It's been a long journey. I think my first real, and hilarious, memory would be when I was playing a Tauren Warrior. I had thought, "Well, warriors are supposed to be big and fearsome, and nothing's more scary than a raging bull with a sword!" So I leveled him to around 15, and I saw a Zevra in the Crossroads. I thought, "Oh, this is like all those little critters I keep seeing, and charging at them to build rage and then heroic striking the mob next to them is the best idea ever!" So I charged at it, and promptly got my butt handed to me. It was around this moment that it struck me that the levels of the mobs I was attacking mattered. And as a level 15 warrior, a level 22 Zevra is probably a little out of my league. ;)

How would you change Motorola's CLIQ? {Engadget}

Rumors of WoW TCG's demise greatly exaggerated {WoW}

Nov 15th 2009 6:47PM Yea, it's "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated." Still, +1 internet for the effort.

Breakfast Topic: How far would you let WoW microtransactions go? {WoW}

Nov 9th 2009 10:52AM Mini-pets, alternatives to the mounts we all ready have in-game, or vanity gear.

Want Lil' K.T.? 10 dollars, no problem.
Getting tired of your Ice Mammoth? Well, for 15 dollars, you can buy a Black-Ice Mammoth.
Want a tuxedo, but don't feel like dropping your 400/400 Blacksmithing? Here's a tuxedo for 5 bucks. Have fun.

The catch, though, is that NONE of these items are allowed to count towards your achievements. Need only 1 more mini-pet for that pet achievement? Just buy it for 10 dollars!

While that wouldn't make me quit, it would kind of piss me off a bit.

The Light and How to Swing It: A little less hybrid {WoW}

Nov 7th 2009 9:57PM I think the real question is: "Why are you trying to fight a Paladin?" ha, I kid. I believe that healing should be nerfed a little for Paladins that aren't holy, but not so much that it's completely useless. Bubbling and healing ARE parts of our class, remember. And also don't forget that you can fear/drain life, or pop your health stone, or siphon life (or whatever your dot is that you get back some HP per tick.)

The Light and How to Swing It: A little less hybrid {WoW}

Nov 7th 2009 9:37PM Your point is completely valid, atomic. And I agree. The problem I've run into, and constantly see, is that while in PUGs, there are often times where you pretty much have to say "oh $$@k, I'm getting hit, HELP!" Now, by no means am I complaining that we don't have any offensive abilities -that's not the part that bothers me. What DOES bother me is that I have to put up with possible death with a limited toolbox of weak attacks, (unlike say, a priest who has dots and spells that hit fairly hard, even specced for healing) and am now under the knife to be nerfed in the near future.

That's the IMBA that bothers me.

Nov 7th 2009 9:22PM What does that even mean?

The Light and How to Swing It: A little less hybrid {WoW}

Nov 7th 2009 9:01PM So I need to be nerfed because, while specced Holy for healing, I can get killed by a mob due to the fact that I have no offensive abilities? CS and DS, two of our heavy hitters, are gone once we roll holy. And if you don't remember, our FCFS rotation while RET is CS, Consc., Judge, DS, EX. Taking out CS/DS kills 2/5 of our offensive abilities. What's left is a judgement that we use for haste ANYWAY, an AoE-DOT, and a spell that's only truly useful against Undead, or as a filler for when our heavy hitters are on cooldown.

Yea, I totally agree that we need to be nerfed to the ground.

Comcast announces new bandwidth throttling scheme (update: old news) {Engadget}

Nov 5th 2009 5:11PM I'm on hold with Comcast, setting up a future-dated service-cancel as I type this. I've all ready called AT&T. This is the straw that broke the camel's f-ing back with those thieves.
