PES 2010 is top seller in UK, Forza and FIFA close behind {Joystiq}

Oct 26th 2009 2:57PM Ok I take that last part back. Most Americans go bonkers for Baseball.

I think it's just me that gets bored with it. :)

Oct 26th 2009 2:51PM @Ramin - Uhh you can play Football (US) anywhere too. All you need is a football and room. You can play football in the streets (touch/tag or flag), front/back yards, parking lots, etc. And just like in Europe/Asia/Mexico, you will see kids playing American Football absolutely everywhere. Just like the kids do in Europe (I go to Italy once a year to see family & friends) and play Soccer in the streets, American kids will play football in the streets or soccer fields here.

I'm American (born here, but both parents are Italian) and I know absolutely, positively that American Football doesn't stand remotely close to the popularity of Futbol around the world. US Football doesn't hold a candle to Soccer/Futbol. So I don't know what "yanks" you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure that most American sports fans (who know what they are talking about) know that Soccer is huge the rest of the world over.

And we couldn't care less if Football (US) isn't as popular as Soccer/Futbol. We just love our Football, that's for sure. Believe it or not, Football (US) at a competitive level is a very complicated sport to play & understand. Much, much much much more so than Soccer. It takes brawn, speed, and brains to play Football (US) competitively. So although most Football (US) players are big brutes, they also have an understanding for a very complicated sport that you have to understand to even be able to compete. A sport you've probably never taken the time to comprehend or have just blown it off as dumb, 'roid taking brutes.

I like Baseball too. But I only love playing it, not so much watching it. If it's not the world series or division series' than it's boring as shit to watch. I might be in the minority here, but yes, Americans love their baseball too but maybe not AS MUCH as you think.

Microsoft survey hints at Instant On OS concept {Engadget}

Oct 15th 2008 11:05AM I would think hackers would use this to hack systems much easier and faster. From what I've read, this would open up a limited amount of programs before W7 loads. These programs would have to receive regular updates and kept clean of any holes, hooks, or exploits.

If you give a hacker any amount of segway (such as giving them access to some programs before or after the boot screen/password input), they can use that to find exploits in some or all of the programs which could potentially give them access to the whole computer.

I could just be paranoid, but giving anyone quick access to anything on your computer has potential to be disastrous, imo.

OLO dreams up iPhone-powered netbook, CELIO shouts "don't do it!" {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 13th 2008 11:40AM It's not a horrible idea, honestly. The iPhone is more than equipped for access to organized music libraries, viewing pictures/documents, SMS, touch mouse/navigation recognition and a bunch other features. Not a bad way to add more functionality and phone to computer integration. Even though it might be a bad case of viral marketing at the moment. It might even help lower the cost of the lappies a smidge.

And if that don't sell ya, hopefully the laptop comes equipped with a copy/paste *feature*. //gets down on knee and grips hands// Please?

Fable 2 shipping without online co-op, will be added post-launch {Joystiq}

Sep 27th 2008 5:22PM I guess i'm cool with that, as long as it does comes very shortly after release. It sucks that it doesn't all come on one disc.. I hate that I have to download something just to play coop.

I am curious though, Fable 2 seems like a huge IP coming for the Xbox 360. I didn't get a chance to play the first Fable; the pics/concepts of this game look great(except for the weirdly-shaped, kingdom hearts main character look).

But what I want to know is why do you guys anticipating this game so much? Was the first one really good? What about the story, is it good? Is Peter Molyneax awesome? Like, whats the big deal about this game that makes it such a huge deal?

Let me know guys!

Brando charms with Super Tiny Keyboard {Engadget}

Sep 24th 2008 3:30PM That's pretty spiffy. If you check out the Brando sites pics it's about one and half iPhone's in length. Or about the length of a regular keyboard, from left bottom corner to second ALT button (right of the space bar).

http://usb.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=00666

I agree, not a bad backup or mobile work keyboard.. esp for $25. I'm too in love with the Apple keyboard, but this would really be contender if it had both Bluetooth and USB for ~$15 or more.

Apple prepping a 32GB iPhone update, bringing back at-home activation? {Engadget}

Sep 22nd 2008 5:17PM h0mi - The only benefit that would come of home activation would be that instead of having to sit and wait in an AT&T store for it to be activated, you can do it for yourself at home. With this way, you just don't have to sit there in the AT&T store for activition.

That's all this does. It has nothing to do with it being locked or unlocked. Any way you look at it(right now anyways), the activation still has to go through AT&T for your iPhone 3G to work.

Apple prepping a 32GB iPhone update, bringing back at-home activation? {Engadget}

Sep 21st 2008 3:47PM In my opinion, Nah. I already have a white 16GB iPhone(purchased on July 11th), and it works for me in holding my mobile media. My music, videos, pictures, etc. stay on my phone for about a week or two until they are changed out with newer media. Since I already have the 16GB, I will not be paying more for the same phone just because it's 32GB.

Some people like to download/upload everything under the sun to their phone, and then they complain when they don't have enough space or their phone becomes unstable because it's so bloated with crap.
