Stats show Motorola Droid is the new elephant in the Android room {Engadget}
Nov 23rd 2009 10:57PM Wonder how many so called "droid" phones are really g-1's running cyanogenmod. Many modded phones have been identifying themselves as droids to get certain functionality (e.g. the navigation hack).
MOTO releases AMP MID, the OLED Android 2.0 handheld you didn't even know existed {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2009 9:31AM I so want the 5 inch version. I can see myself modding my dash in my 300m to port that sucker (and hopefully charge it too)....damn, if they put the new Google Navigation on that sucker, there is no way people would by a GPS....you'd be crazy to do that (for GPS hardcores there is still Copilot et al).
Verizon confirms DROID tethering cost, will ask subscribers to double-down on their data plan {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2009 9:19AM @Marc Smith: perhaps because I do not think they specifically say unlimited kb. They simply say unlimited. That could mean unlimited as in you can use it to go anywhere on the net (in comparison to, for example, the Nokia N75 which can only go to mediaNet sites).
Speaking of Nokia N75, it scares me that everyone is paying such high data rates (and having troubles with tethering rules). When I switched from my N75 to my Dev-1 google phone, I kept my $15 dollar-a-month unlimited data plan. Now, I use my Dev-1/G1 to surf as much as I want (and I do it ALOT). I even tether over wifi to my laptop when we go on trips so the kids can have internet (all while the phones in my pocket getting nice and toasty!)...you gotta love that root access on Android!
'Course I'm pretty sure AT&T would hissy if they knew I had a G1...

TomTom's Car Kit for iPhone will be your co-pilot in October {Engadget}
Sep 5th 2009 9:55AM And as for the background applications, on my last trip to Atlanta I streamed music the entire way with Imeem while using CoPilot. Granted, it killed my G1 deader than a doornail even though it was plugged into a charger. I need to get me a factory travel charger; the one for my old AT&T Tilt apparently won't charge the phone when it uses a bunch of radios (e.g. when the bluetooth, gps, and data connections are active). I am thinking it doesn't put out enough amperage for the G1

Sep 5th 2009 9:47AM Why hasn't anyone mentioned that this is way over priced when compared to Co-pilot live for Android? For under $40 we get turn by turn, maps on SD, super fluid animations, text to speech, voice control, and cool ass lane assist.
New HTC Hero ROM leaked, Flash 10 already chugging along on a few lucky G1s {Engadget}
Jul 5th 2009 10:21AM Isn't this kind of like what you were beating Haykuro up about in your diatribe about how self-centered he is behaving (see http://www.androidiani.com/news/androidiani-presents-haykuro-2999#more-2999 ).
You, too, are seeking attention and credit for hard work, in this case scooping the spy-shots of the Hero. Human trait that is, attention seeking.
Cheers,
Will S.

Hack: use Google Voice to add visual voicemail to your G1, Dream, or Magic {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 29th 2009 8:00PM No AT&T does not. I have been using PF visual voicemail since getting my G1 about four months ago. It also forwards your number, and I have never been charged and get hundreds of voicemails a month.
Hack: use Google Voice to add visual voicemail to your G1, Dream, or Magic {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 29th 2009 7:57PM Um, I have a developers phone (basically an unlocked g1) and I get updates on the AT&T network.
Nevertheless, I still get my ROMs from XDA
