Microsoft brings Silverlight video to the iPhone, without a plugin {Download Squad}

Nov 28th 2009 12:23PM Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Microsoft not only used open-source Blender movie "Big Buck Bunny".... but also gave a copyright citation at the bottom?

MacUpdate Desktop version 5.0.2 released, win a membership from TUAW {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 20th 2009 7:42PM Yes, and I've fallen in love with Keynote. I still require use of the MS OpenXML formats, though.

Nov 20th 2009 7:27PM I'm a recent switcher, and my oldest app is Microsoft Office 2008... and I loathe using it. Worse than iTunes.

Bookmark sync arrives on Chromium for Mac - here's how to make it work {Download Squad}

Nov 13th 2009 11:03PM I hate to sound like I'm advertising, but Xmarks also has an alpha of its bookmark syncing available for the mainline Chrome beta. Between their extensions and tray-tool apps, you can sync bookmarks between Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

Also note that Chrome (as of Mac version 4.0.245.0) and Chromium don't yet have an actual Bookmarks Manager implemented on Mac yet, although I'm sure they're just making it sufficiently Cocoa enough before sticking it in a new Chromium build.

Apple's main ad man thinks different, steps down as Macs battle PCs like it's 1984 {Engadget}

Oct 30th 2009 2:43PM Raise your hand if you thing the I'm a Mac ads need to end... now. Or at least return to humor (see one in article) or advertising the legitimately better features of a Mac (Time Machine, Genuis, or Bloatware ads). There's a goldmine of these features that they haven't showcased yet, and it annoys the shit out of me because some of them are what makes owning a Mac great. I fear that it's now only about NOT owning a stereotypical "PC", instead of getting a Mac for its features...

Oct 24th 2009 5:19PM I get 7-hour days from it all the time.
