AT&T's Nation with Canada plans make border runs a little cheaper {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 9th 2009 4:39PM ATTWS does offer a bolt-on for calling/roaming, have for ages:
http://www.wireless.att.com:80/learn/international/roaming/affordable-world-packages.jsp?wtSlotClick=1-0026F0-0-1&WT.svl=calltoaction#4
I turn it on before I go or need the service for a couple of weeks, turn it off when I get back or don't need it. The charge has been prorated. I prefer VZW's BB plan over ATTs since I get BB data and slightly better coverage where I go. The calling to-from rate is pretty good for both carriers, IMO.
The "new" ATT Canada/Nation plans are just a rehash of what they used to offer and pretty much matches VZW's comparable plan - minute-for-minute and prices, with Rollover being the only real difference.

Microsoft Recite killed off, but why? {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 3rd 2009 3:12PM Maybe because MS bought and will be rolling out an integrated version of TellMe, which has been up and running for some time? TellMe's recently released BB beta works pretty well, I'm using it on my Storm.
BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac now available, we go hands-on {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 2nd 2009 3:24PM @pete, the fix for this is all over Crackberry.com & BlackBerryOS.com. Google Sync isn't that great of a solution, but it works within its indicated limits. Read up at those two sites - you'll need DM to delete the Calendar/Contact DB, set your default calendar Sync connects to, and run Google Sync again. You're stuck with the one calendar until RIM upgrades to BIS 2.8 (and gets a few firmware updates out) - and those new BIS manuals have been on RIM's site for weeks. Read up, or piss off.

Sep 17th 2009 12:20PM Um, let me know when that happens... You do know that RIM bought Dash, right? When Apple makes a BlackBerry, we'll see that Dash app! ;)

Sep 11th 2009 11:19PM If SPCS is thinking 4G and WiMax, I'm thinking VZW and LTE. I'm on WiMax (Clear) in PDX, and it's seriously overhyped, almost useless more than 3 feet from a window.

Video: Storm 2's new touchscreen tech explained with mindblowing clarity, WiFi confirmed {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 23rd 2009 1:00PM Ditto your comments on the comparison. I own a VZW Storm and an iPhone 3G, and am not a big texter but can bang out TMs and emails on the iPhone PDQ - I had to pop for Vlingo Pro to keep myself from chucking the Storm into the ocean. The OS and hardware for the Storm 2 and the iPhone 3G look to be sweet competitors.
I keep thinking how sweet the Palm OS would be with the Storm 2 hardware. RIM, Palm - start talking!

Aug 1st 2009 8:59PM Gotta chime in with the "fake" tag too. Posting this in Portland on WiMax right now, had the service for a couple of months right now. I'm confusedededed.
