Comcast looking to buy NBC? {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2009 9:42PM No offense, but Comcast seriously is not doing well in the cable/ISP business. My internet was out all day (until just now), and people with "mission critical" internet based businesses that lived around me really suffered. They should get their game straight with their core services before expanding...

Engadget's recession antidote: win one of 100 Microsoft Windows 7 pre-order discount codes! {Engadget}

Jun 25th 2009 2:04PM Hooray for Win7!!!

Fix the Economy eh?
We don't have time to fix the economy! By the year 2012 the universe with implode and we will lose the ability to transcend through hyperspace into the next dimension! The only way to stop this is to cause a mass global thermonuclear war in order to force everyone to transcend before it is too late!

But I'd love to enjoy Windows 7 before all that occurs :D

Switched On: Windows 7, Non-Starter Edition {Engadget}

Apr 30th 2009 6:37PM You guys didn't read the article did you? Starter Edition being for Netbooks is a misconception! Starter is probably more for things like MID's and other mini portable computers with extremely limited CPU power AS WELL as a sensitive price point. If a PC maker wants to put Starter on a computer, sure, they will, but it's not like you'll ever buy something with it right? Heck, you'll probably never see it in the wild with your own eyes anyways, so why do you care?

Microsoft: New Zune hardware coming this year {Engadget}

Apr 7th 2009 1:22AM Dude, you're not actually Saad.

Go home, you're not fooling anyone.

Microsoft's second Laptop Hunters commercial: Giampaulo buys an HP HDX {Engadget}

Apr 5th 2009 11:03AM I don't think you guys get the point of this ad. The point isn't to punch Apple, although they do do that a little bit. It's all bout the "windows experience." Meaning being able to pick whatever hardware you want and having a "choice." They aren't focusing on Apple, that's just how they get your attention (that means you Apple Fanboys), by giving Apple a quick puncheroo, then moving on to what they *actually* want to tell you.

Microsoft drops personalization from Windows 7 Starter, locks wallpaper {Download Squad}

Mar 30th 2009 12:44AM I don't think you guys get it.
Simply having the ability to, say, change the wallpaper of a desktop is one more variable, and one more thing to variably render on the screen (since the variable in this case, could be ANY picture). What Microsoft is doing here is removing that variable, thus saving precious system resources, something that anyone running Starter Edition will need. How much do you want to bet a gazillion other things in that version will be locked as well? It's all for a reason. You should all be praising Microsoft for being able to remove so much stuff for the sake of system resources.

Oh, and by the way, please stop calling them "M$," it's just plain childish.

Windows 7 to get 2,000 bug fixes pointed out by testers {Engadget}

Feb 26th 2009 7:17PM Sorry to bring this up, but hasn't the iPhone app store 5 mil dl's in the past year? And MS just got 10 mil in less than a month? Nice....

Microsoft offers no new cost cuts, shares plunge {Joystiq}

Feb 25th 2009 8:16PM You guys obviously don't read much engadget do you? Let me sum it up for you:

Yes there are that many features, but those are NOT the ones that will be available for you. That starter version that can only run 3 apps is ment for MIDs (not retail). Home basic is NOT for retail (emerging markets only). Enterprise is NOT for retail (volume licensing for large companies), and Ultimate will NOT be advertised much, it will just be there for computer nerds that want it. So what does that leave???

Home Premium - For Regular Consumer
Professional - For Prosumer

Make sense? There isn't a gazillion, and besides, when you buy a computer, it will probably come with Home Premium anyways.

Stop freaking out, sheesh...

Sony, Nintendo and Nokia sued for making gaming devices that do stuff {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 24th 2009 7:14PM Wait, so why isn't Apple being sued? Arn't they the ones that tout their phone as a "gaming" device?
