Palm: this is your survival guide {Engadget}

Mar 19th 2010 10:51PM Of the 4 biggest mistakes I think palm made only one was on the list.

1. No expandable memory. your not apple don't try to screw people, just cause they got away with it dose not mean you can.

2. You had cool charging hardware, you should have bundled it with the kitchen sink approach to win early adopter loyalty instead of trying to squeeze them for extra cash. Again, not apple, don't do that.

3. Way to little to late on opening things up to devs. You have a limited window to build momentum and it was totally squandered, then you did the same thing with low level access. I get all the balls where not in your court but you could have stolen/bought some and avoided the problem.

4. You had a couple cool and innovative ideas but you did not push them further. You have not really expanded or done new stuff with features instead it's been a mishmash of not staying ahead and bug fixes. You have to look at the failures of others and say we do that too. Lets over the air BT syncing to the comp for music and stuff or even the cloud if you must but there is a general failure to recognize local is important at the same time. expansive BT support for printing, not ear phones. Expansive peripheral support. Cool docks for the droid, you could have that too, hell you could include a couple cool things and make your product look richer instead of chasing after market money that you don't have a big enough ecosystem or audience to make work. Stop drinking your own dam cool aid.

Disney renegotiating Starz deal, might pull movies from Netflix streaming {Engadget}

Jan 15th 2010 8:55PM So when I saw netflix cave and give into release delays, all I could thing is they are screwed. You feed the rabid dog, and just tried harder to bite you.

Jan 4th 2010 4:50AM Will this version *finally* let ms do something as outrageous as stream video from my UPNP server in the garage. I mean god forbid somebody would like to take box like this, hook it up, and stream something across their LAN like a divx avi file..... :p

Want to connect your iPhone and Bluetooth keyboard? There's a (jailbroken) app for that (Update: video!) {Engadget}

Dec 24th 2009 5:51PM I have never understood why the apple BT stack has to suck so utterly. There is zero reason that this can't be supported native.

Windows 7 Black Screen of Death? (It's not as bad as it sounds) {Engadget}

Dec 4th 2009 3:27PM Yes, by all means call MS support at $25 a pop to get somebody to randomly look up KB articles for you an then say it must be some software they don't support.
They complain repeatedly that the problem was "Not brought directly to them".... yes they wonder why....

How would you change AT&T's 3G MicroCell? {Engadget}

Nov 28th 2009 12:06AM The problem is not the tech, it's the pricing and policy around it (like needing a GPS lock to work), and the insulting triple dipping on getting paid. They should be paying people deploy these things an shore up their awful service rather then the other way around.
