Aug 21st 2009 4:59AM Personally I agree. Being in my late twenties, I have a full time job, and I really only have the time and attention span to get involved with 1 game at a time, and each can last me at least a month, even PSN games. I've been through Mirrors Edge, Flower, inFamous, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2 (which I haven't finished) and World at War this year, and I haven't once considered that I need another game. I've got various PSN games too that I'll play when I want to experience some creativity. Only ONCE did I put a PS2 game in (I have the 60Gb original) and that was, as someone else has said they did too, Bully. Only to see if it made it look better (it was around the time Scholarship Edition came out for the 360), and I have never been bothered about BC. I actually offered to give a friend mine if they bought a new slim model but wanted the BC.
Of course, whilst PS2 hardware sales continue to really keep the Playstation division going, I doubt Sony are going to think about discontinuing it. They also mentioned numerous times before that they see the PS2s lifetime continuing for a while yet. Perhaps they could eventually start selling them like PSOne games via the PS Store, but I can't imagine I'll ever care.

I don't understand why people keep trying to put 'realistic' games on the Wii. Sure, we want first person shooters and that, but heres an idea, try something like this:

Mario Galaxy had the same style and looked brilliant, so forget about hi-res textures, go vectorised and people will love you for it, it'll be different, it'll not look like something from 1994 and it'll probably be more fun to play too.
But hey, what do I know, someone obviously thought this looked like some sort of a good idea. Fools.

Aug 19th 2009 7:03AM Technically I think the PS3 was previously at an RRP of £299 and its been reduced to an RRP of £249. It was the retailers who were selling it at £280 or so, which means once the initial fuss of this new model dies down (and probably after Christmas), you'll see Amazon UK et all drop their prices a wee bit more too, say to £220 or something like that.

you must be pretty bad at the whole computing thing, I've upgraded every single one of those pieces of hardware, as well as my CPU, with Vista (more than once where a hard drive is concerned) and I've never had to contact Microsoft to revalidate my license. Also, I don't know exactly how a router would be likely to affect your license?

Aug 12th 2009 2:47PM Yeah the stuff about apps is really really not Microsofts fault. The reason why the Live apps exist in the first place is because of the Anti-Trust lawsuits. You only need to go back a couple of weeks for stories about them having to remove an Internet browser from their OS (an absurd idea, who doesn't expect a modern OS to include a web browser??), and they've had to separate out Media Player too, as well as introduce all those "Default Programs and Settings" options.
Why would they include something thats likely going to provoke another lawsuit, when its just really pretty simple to bundle everything into a Live apps installer (which they have) and include Start Menu icons linking to this bundle for every app thats available (which they do)? And frankly, Windows Mail goes the way of Internet Explorer for me, so not having to actually install it in the first place would be nice.
