Obama BlackBerry alert: it's a BlackBerry {Engadget}
Jan 30th 2009 3:46AM I heard that the folks at RIM are sending the prez a new BB with a custom case with the initials H.N.I.C. etched onto it. Does anyone know if this is true?
VUDU price dramatically slashed to $99* for the holidays {Engadget}
Dec 26th 2008 1:39AM If you buy from Vudu's website, you can only get the $200 instant rebate plus the $50 credit for a total of $149. If you buy from Best Buy, they only offer the Vudu for the full price of $299 but you get the $200 free movie credit.
Buying from Best Buy and receiving the $200 free movie credit is clearly the better deal, saving you $49, but this is assuming you can watch around 40 rented movies in 4 months. If you can't watch more than 30 rented movies in those 4 months, then the $200 rebate is probably the deal for you.

Black Friday deal roundup: recession edition {Engadget}
Nov 28th 2008 2:51PM I agree with the above comments about no real deals this year...except for Fry's offering a Panasonic 42 inch 720p Plasma for $599. That's the lowest price at a brick and mortar for decent 42 inch that I've ever seen...even if it is 720p and the base model.
Official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for Sprint Mogul leaks out {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 25th 2008 10:44PM I upgraded to this ROM on my new/replaced Mogul yesterday and it works great, no problems yet.
Installing the new ROM took about 5 minutes and went off without a hitch.
Before this I had the beta ROM that was leaked last month and it might just be my imagination, but my battery life has lasted much longer in the last 24 hours with this new ROM. Again, might have nothing to do with the ROM update but I thought it's worth mentioning, since this phone notoriously sucks the battery life so quickly.
Los Angeles Traffic Cam brings live gridlocks to your cellphone {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 25th 2008 3:27AM I just downloaded this program and test drove it for a few minutes. The user interface is pretty average, just a numerical list of freeways that you can click on that reveal cross streets to freeways to click on for the cams. They could have done a lot more with this program or integrated it into Google Mobile Maps somehow, that would have been better. I'll probably forget that it's on my phone and never use it.
As far as the coverage. It appears to just be most of LA County with the BIG exception of everything north of the San Fernando Valley. Strange. No 14 Freeway listed at all and nothing on I-5 North of the 170 Freeway I-5 Split. Not good.

Dumbass Doherty Sent to Jail Again {TMZ}
Apr 8th 2008 2:01PM I think everyone at TMZ needs sensitivity training.
TMZ, are you making the world a better place by calling a drug addict a dumbass? Do you even understand how addiction works? Obviously not because of the way you report on it. Here's a thought, try mixing in a link to AA or NA's website or a success story with a positive spin. Really, you can do it and people will actually read it!
