AT&T's 3G MicroCell still on track for release sometime before the end of the year {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 25th 2009 3:03PM The femtocell functions much like a small cell phone tower inside your house. It makes your phones believe they are talking to a normal tower, but all your calls are redirected through your home internet connection. The advantage of course is that you get signal in places you've never had it before (or increase your already weak signal). On the downside, depending on the cost of monthly service, it might not be worth the extra hardware and rental charge for many people. I hope ATT doesn't make this another death-star like launch, where the consumer gets the short end of the stick.

Nokia's flagship N97 gets its own website, pre-order link ($699) {Engadget Mobile}
May 4th 2009 10:56AM Why oh why must you take forever Nokia. I still feel like this would have been awesome say, in January. Its still a very capable phone, but we've been hearing about it for ages. The price tag is as expected. Could have been worse, could be as demented as the X1 release.
Meizu M8 coming in white next month? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 28th 2009 5:56PM Windows Mobile is based off Windows CE, so no, its definitely not a dead platform at all.
I don't think Meizu cares about the US market, seeing how even a giant like Nokia has a hard time with direct sales due to the carrier choke hold on the ignorant consumers in the US. I doubt we'll ever see a UMTS M8, maybe LTE years down the road and which point it might be irrelevant.

Apr 9th 2009 6:30PM Um, I don't know which part of DC you work in but I commute daily from south of Baltimore down to DC and I am yet to have a dropped call. In fact, since the new firmware the quality and coverage have improved - not sure if its the software or AT&T is adding coverage. By the way, AT&T is pretty bad in Virginia from my experience, don't know what its like for everyone else. I am sad to admit but the radio on the iPhone now rivals my E71 in performance :(
I think this is and endless war between Verizon and ATT in the DC/Baltimore area. Several of my friends have switched to AT&T and have had no problems, so perhaps some of these issues are device related.
P.S. Saving $ for July.
