BlackBerry Curve and Bold getting price cuts on AT&T tomorrow {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 2nd 2009 4:54PM Very curious .... it's almost as though they're preparing for the beast (Iphone 3.0) they're about to release in July, while making as much profit as possible with devices that are not doing as well as expected. Just a hunch.

Samsung's Pixon 12: a dozen megapixels of cameraphone nonsense in June {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 1st 2009 2:37PM Well ... he might be taking a self portrait using the front facing camera so he can send it to you, lol. Just teasing.

Unlocked HTC Touch Pro2 to retail for $880, Touch Diamond2 for $725 {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 17th 2009 8:54AM Hey B, excellent post and very insightful. I can only speak for myself here ... but I'm aware and understand how the things work regarding (non carrier) unsubstidized and (carrier) substidized prices, etc. Just because I think/believe that $800 for a high-end pda/phone is high/pricey doesn't mean I don't understand how things work.
In these difficult economic times, I believe many people who are financially feeling the "pinch" will be more cognizant about what they purchase - especially when it comes to electronics. That being said, those individuals will perhaps invest more time and energy in researching and comparing a device with another before purchasing. As with time of course with everything, the high prices will drop to a more reasonable price. But as history has shown so vividly, companies and phone manufacturers will experience massive financial set backs and losses.
Much respect.

Apr 16th 2009 5:37PM Sheesh ,,, $800.00, for me, that's a bit much. I just purchased a high end 4GB RAM (450GB memory) notebook for $700 with loads of other features. I was looking forward to this phone, but the price is so damn high. I look forward to the Nokia N97 in a few months then. I can wait.

LG affirms that 12 megapixel cameraphone is in the works {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 20th 2009 1:27PM Actually, I think it's a good idea. I'm waiting for Samsung to come out with the 18MP cameraphone, where it can take X-rays from a mile away behind a 12" thick wall, 12 feet underground; and take close-up shots of the Milky Way from my basement with the lens cap on, and be able to beam crystal clear pics of it to my future self.
Seriously though, 12MPs in a cameraphone? 5MP to 8 MPs (w/ Xenon Flash) in a cameraphone is fine (for me). But then again, Samsung is known for pushing the technology envelope.

Rumored BlackBerry Javelin specs: WiFi, GPS, awesome display {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 11th 2008 11:48AM The Bold has a 2MP camera, HSDPA, and 624MHz Intel PXA270 processor, & 1GB of onboard memory. Whereas The Javelin has a 3.2MB camera, EDGE, & 256MB of onboard memory. As much as I like the camera capabilities of the Javelin, I still prefer the Bold. It's a beast. Definitely looking forward to the Bold's release. It'll be a nice transition from the HTC Kaiser (for me).
