VIDEO: Heffner Performance teases Twin Turbo Audi R8 {Autoblog}
Nov 13th 2009 5:34PM maybe... but they are turbocharing a high compression motor. If they swapped our the internals, lowered the compression, (not sure what they are doing for an intercooler), and did extensive fuel system mods,, then sure... this could be a 1000hp car.

Nov 13th 2009 5:30PM I take issue with this statement: "two massive turbochargers" no -- they are not massive.. small to moderate at best. The fab work though, looks TOP notch!
Verizon confirms DROID tethering cost, will ask subscribers to double-down on their data plan {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 6th 2009 8:08AM meh -- this is pretty good actually --- an EVDO card from them is already 59.99 a month for 5gb a month.
If you can talk on your phone at the same time and still maintain an tethered connections that would be great!
I wish VZW would cut me a break... I pay 30 dollars a month for my phones data plan and another 59.99 a month for my EVDO card. It hurts knowing the EVDO card accesses the SAME network as my phones data plan.
Verizon chief says offering the iPhone is Apple's call {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 26th 2009 4:07PM sheesh.. you guys know nothing. Dealing with Verizon is a DREAM compared to dealing with qualcomm. OEMs cant just go "create" CMDA phones without mother Qualcomm getting in there a f'ing it up. Why do you think verizon is foaming at the mouth to fast track their LTE deployment?
Not So Fast: Jesse James' hydrogen speed "record" challenged {Autoblog}
Jun 24th 2009 10:28AM "James responded with a short crude retort that reminded her that vulgarity is indeed the refuge of a destitute mind."
This is why he rules. I'm sick and tired of the pussification of America. If you have issues with Jesse then you are mostly likely a self-righteous pansy and should punch yourself in the face.
Jesse represents working hard and being passionate about what you do. We need more Jesses in this world and less "Collin and Tylers" with parents that enroll them in no-score soccer and T-Ball leagues only later in life to put then on ADD meds.
Porsche considering Audi TTS engine for cheaper Boxster? {Autoblog}
Jun 17th 2009 5:56PM
Put in the ej257. Turbo? check! Boxer? check! Problem solved. Except the tuners will make it faster then a 911.
Palm Pre data tethering is a go, Sprint be damned {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 15th 2009 3:54PM Yes, it is worth it. Im tired of these greedy carriers.
They want to charge you for a smart phone data plan then they want another 60 a month for you to access the same damn EVDO network. The aircards get IPs from the same damn IP pool that the smart phone does. And these greedy a-holes dont give you any price breaks for for data plans if you have one on your phone and an aircard.
Screw em.
Patents reveal Ferrari's plan for new turbocharged engines {Autoblog}
May 29th 2009 8:16PM yup -- based on that diagram.. it appears the turbos are placed just like the BMW line up of twin turbo systems.

Engadget Labs: The best mobile data carrier in America {Engadget}
May 26th 2009 5:42PM "We will say that Verizon's UM175 was our least favorite, as it was definitely the largest and had a rather strange spring mechanism for covering and uncovering the USB head."
"We greatly appreciated the microSDHC slot on the webConnect and the microSD slot on the USBConnect Mercury / 598U"
When I read crap like this, I question the authors --- Who the hell buys a USB aircard for the microSD card slot?!! you slam the UM175 because it's spring mechanism (which is purely cosmetic) because it's too nifty for you?
Let me re-write this section with some HELPFUL information for you since you are obviously only care about astectics.
"The Pantech UM175 is perhaps one of the most useful reliable adapters. It cleverly swivels so you don't have to worry about busting the USB port on your laptop or breaking the board the USB port is soldered onto. The Pantech UM175 also has support for an external antenna which is VERY useful to people who actually use these devices when they travel (to real jobs) instead of just examining them for 1-2 days to write a not-so-clever blog post. Mac OSX? yup. Windows? of course. Linux? The Pantech UM175 works right out of the box in linux with a modern Ubuntu install."
