Psystar to countersue Apple for antitrust violations, will ask court to declare Leopard EULA void {Engadget}

Aug 26th 2008 8:32PM Then you know what Apple will do? FairPlay (DRM) the damn operating system to Apple hardware!!!

Then if anyone tries to break the DRM Apple will have the DMCA to back them in these types of lawsuits!!!

Software update brings video recording and more to Sony's COM-2 mylo {Engadget}

Jun 30th 2008 11:30AM I own a Mylo 1 and 2...

I'm still waiting for Location Free streaming support (if it is ever coming)...

I've been in touch with Sony Vice President Of Corporate Communications Rick Clancy and he has forwarded my Location Free idea to the Mylo team, so hopefully we'll see something someday...

How would you change SanDisk's Sansa Fuze? {Engadget}

May 16th 2008 8:03PM - AAC M4A Codec Support
- Embedded Album Art Support for all formats.
- Standard MPEG-4 SP/ASP codec support with spec limitations.

Beyond that, I think it's fine... I mean, it's not amazing by any means, but it gets the job done...

Sony mylo 2 firmware version 1.100 adds WMV and SHOUTcast support {Engadget}

Apr 12th 2008 4:03PM WOW!!! That's 2 more features than they added to the Mylo 1. They didn't add crap to the Mylo 1 via a firmware update and I know they could've added more!

I have a PSP, PS3 and Mylo 1. I have no intentions of getting the Mylo 2 until they drop the price to $199 and add Location Free support, which I'm sure it can do!

Besides, I played with a Mylo 2 last night at Fry's and it wasn't very fast just operating the GUI. For $299.99 and iPod Touch is looks more viable.

No GSM is because this is for teens, contrary to the $299.99 price teens can't afford. Also, I'm sure they would end up working with Sony Ericsson, if they went GSM with a Mylo.

Honestly, anyone wanting a Mylo 2 would be better off getting a PSP. Unless you need phone microphone/earspeaker and a keyboard built in, a PSP would just be better.

The PSP and Mylo both support the same audio codecs, minus DRM. Same video codecs and higher resolutions on the PSP, minus the added WMV and current FLASH, which SCEA could add. They both have a NetFront browser. They both have Skype. They both have RSS, minus RSS news feed capabilities.

Also with the PSP, you're guaranteed firmware upgrades for quite sometime. With the Mylo, don't hold your breath!!!

SCEA and Sony Electronics are 2 different companies.

Motorola insider tells all about the fall of a technology icon {Engadget}

Mar 26th 2008 1:31PM Not that I'm 100% behind the iPhone, but I mean how can Motorola compete against it? Apple's the one company (beyond Moto's own execs) that's hurting Motorola itself. The foolish ROKR sucked and the iPhone blew the RAZR off the map!

The only thing Motorola can do is apply iPhone features to the RAZR. Beyond that Apple has it all!

Motorola isn't going to make a candy-bar phone to compete with the iPhone. Flip phones are what people want! Because they're slim and light.

The iPhone only won because of it's elegant simplicity and beauty... That still doesn't mean people want bricks!

Moto still has a chance to merge the iPhone into a RAZR, but once Apple comes out with the iPhone Flip, it's GAME OVER!

Moto would haft to do a iPhone/RAZR hybrid! And do it damn, quick to save themselves!

Adobe: Flash for iPhone might be a little harder than we thought {Engadget}

Mar 19th 2008 10:55PM We'll I was wanting to ask, how the heck is Adobe going to get past the App Store problem? I mean everyone knows Adobe is a legitimate development firm which isn't going to hack FLASH onto the iPhone behind Apple's back... Thus someone's gonna haft to approve it for the App Store and it's Apple's yay or nay! If Apple's not gonna allow it, FLASH is a waste of time even developing for the platform. Cause without it added to the App Store, it's useless! So they better be willing to give Apple whatever they want! Cause I'm sure Apple would just like to stick with Quicktime and MPEG-4.

I would imagine FLASH working the same as MPEG-4 content works now with Quicktime on the iPhone/iPod Touch platform.

You're in Safari and you have a FLASH video clip to watch, it presents a playback button. You touch it with your finger and it brings up a video player, hiding the browser entirely. I can't imagine FLASH videos playing back in a webpage! I mean maybe, but it would suck!

Sun prepping Java for iPhone: your craplet investment is safe {Engadget}

Mar 8th 2008 7:18PM I don't see a point to adding J2ME. There aren't enough applets to make it worthwhile, ON TOP OF THE FACT THAT everybody and there puppy dog is going to bring better versions natively to the iPhone. I'm sure Opera will port Opera Mobile. AOL has AIM coming natively. You know Yahoo and Microsoft will bring Yahoo/MSN Messengers, natively. RSS is native in Safari. The only reason would be for games, but even then you know games, games and more games will be ported natively. Tetris, Solitare, Pinball! Audible uses J2ME, but there's no point because the iPod/Phone already support Audible natively! I just don't see the point....

Sun's just doing this to keep J2ME alive!

iPod nano coming in purple? Probably not. {Engadget}

Mar 2nd 2008 7:56PM It's probably the Pink Nano, with bad coloring, guys...

Vista prices officially go down, but will consumer interest go up? {Engadget}

Feb 29th 2008 2:56AM Will OEM versions go down in price aswell? (They Need To!!!)

That would be good!!! I'll be keeping an eye out at Micro-Center!!!

I wish they at least sold Vista Home Premium OEM for $129.99 the same price as OS X retail...

Sony's launching mylo labs to keep your COM-2 in the widgets {Engadget}

Feb 28th 2008 10:15AM I bought the first Mylo COM-1, thinking that Sony would enhance it's feature set and boy was I wrong!!!

They did like 2-3 firmware upgrades for patching/security and called it done... No new features or functionalities!!! I was anticipating it to be treated like the PSP...

I'm still trying to figure out where Location Free support is, on this thing (COM-2) cause that the only reason that would make me buy it!

The Mylo is basically a VoIP/IM phone with alot of multimedia/web browsing features, except it features neither a GSM or CDMA radio. Imagine the Mylo as the little brother to the PSP, cept with a keyboard.

-The Mylo and PSP have a web browser.
-The Mylo and PSP have Skype.
-The Mylo and PSP both to movies/music/photos.
-The Mylo and PSP can both do RSS to a certain extent.

It uses Wifi, and thus a Wifi access point is required for usage.

It's primarily for kids and teens, and since kids and teens wouldn't be as apt to want a data contract with a cellphone provider, they don't add cell capabilities to it.

Plus, it's not made by Sony Ericsson, but by Sony. Big Difference! Sony and Sony Ericsson are 2 different companies... (Don't Ask!)
