Vodafone announcing Storm 2 this week?
We're not sure where this intel is coming from exactly, but The Guardian is flatly stating that RIM will be teaming up with Vodafone this week to officially announce the Storm 2, which -- barring unforeseen circumstances, of course -- would make it the first carrier to do so. The phone will apparently be offered starting on a £30 (about $47) plan, though it's not clear whether that'll be hefty enough of a contract to make the phone free upfront. Either way, the bigger question might be whether Vodafone and Verizon are going to consider allowing early original Storm adopters to upgrade their beleaguered devices at a discount; we'd certainly hope so, but nothing's certain with these guys.

I would totally buy a Storm but I just can't take their touchscreen keyboard seriously. They really expect me to be ok with the buttons sharing letters? I'm sorry but I thought the days of text-msg style typing was through. Blackberries are known for their keyboards and yet the Storm has the most bullshit touchpad layout I've ever seen. It's like they're mocking you for not buying a regular Blackberry.

They have the option of having a full qwerty keyboard...it was just showing buttons with sharing letters on youtube because thats what the guy was used to. I'm waiting for this phone...I have the iphone for a year now and I'm getting a little bored now...so many people have blackberries and blackberry messenger is the best. I just don't wanna get rid of touchscreen, so if I like the storm 2, I'll be getting this and getting an ipod touch just for the apps I love.
