David Hockney paints with his iPhone, results not typical
Artist David Hockney isn't afraid of picking up new media -- over the years, he's used Polaroids, photocollages, and even fax machines to create his art -- in addition to regular, old-fashioned painting. Now, he's taken to using his iPhone to create new works of art. The resultant "paintings" have been exhibited at the Tate Gallery and Royal Academy in London, as well as galleries in Los Angeles and Germany. Like artist Jorge Colombo (whose iPhone fingerpainting was featured on the cover of The New Yorker), Hockney uses the iPhone app Brushes to create his works. In an interview with the New York Review of Books, Hockney notes that he prefers and still uses the original version of the app, not the more recent updates. Hmm... maybe the reason our own Brushes paintings stink is because we're using the update!

Holy shit seriously? This is gaining him notoriety? Looks like someone with Parkinsons created those images. What a joke!
I understand it's on a smaller phone screen but I have VSPainter for my Imagio and I can churn out pictures 100x better than this steaming pile of human waste.

Parkinsons is a very serious disease. My father has been fighting a battle with the disease for 6 years and his motor skills have greatly diminished to the point were it is very difficult for him to even get himself out of a chair.
While I agree that art is subjective and you might not be impressed by the pictures, where is your body of work if you feel that you can churn out a picture 100x better?

For real? Come on now...do you really think I came in here and commented on an article to personally attack you; someone I don't even know? I am sorry that your father struggles with the disease but if you can't joke about it you will just anger your own self to death.
Mental Retardation is also a serious disease that affects motor skills yet I see people joking about that as well. Am I supposed to feel bad? Well if your answer is yes well my answer is no. I don't feel bad for the simple fact that it's funny and I choose to laugh. The sad thing is I am probably one of the only few that will admit that. The rest of the people that will comment on this will say "Oh, that's not right" or "How can you say something like that?" and then they will turn around a day later, week later, ten seconds later and make fun of someone. Believe it or not I am 100% certain you, killshot, have done the same thing. The only reason you are upset is because of the single word I used struck a chord. Would you feel better if I said someone with lepracy painted those? The you wouldn't give a single shit about what I said, right?
