Here's the problem with
carbon fiber phones: they're not for everyone, especially those who aren't interesting in dropping over two grand on a midrange candybar. Don't sweat it, though, because Gresso's back at it again with a leather-clad version of its Grand Monaco called the Grand Monaco LE -- "LE" apparently stands for "Limited Edition," if the badging on the back of the phone is any indication -- available in your choice of red and black. Otherwise, you've got the same pricey materials found on the basic Grand Monaco like machined titanium and sapphire (plus a few not-so-pricey materials like a 2 megapixel camera) which somehow ultimately collaborate to produce an $1,800 price tag.

i've tried and tried to find the actual value in these luxury phones. i mean there are other luxury products that i have absolutely no problem seeing the value in, like cars or watches or even shoes. but i just can not understand what the added value is in these phones besides the fact that it may have a rare stone here or there. other than that, it's probably just your average dumbphone. a pig wearing lipstick is still a pig.

Luxury phones are Touch HD's, Touch Pro's, iPhones, Blackberry's. They are so functional and have style and pack more features then you need. I wouldn't mind seeing more special edition versions of the more comment phones. I could see spending more on a limited edition Touch Pro 2 for sprint.
