looks good. 20 bucks is steep but its unlimited calling. so picking this up when it launches in my area. we have no 3G up here.

My understanding is that it has a GPS and may not work outside of an authorized area. Rumors abound. :)

I don’t care what carrier you are with there are always dead zones. My friend has Verizon and can’t get a worth while signal in his house. There are areas of my house that are not too good. I’m pretty sure some people with Sprint have dead zones in their house or business. Upgrade the network instead of providing this? Are you serious? There is NO carrier that provides good service to 100% of homes. And if you think that, you are ignorant.
If you need this for signal reasons then great! Don’t pay a monthly fee! But don’t think this is to fix signal issues. ALL carriers have signal issues and just because YOU don’t doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone. And it doesn’t matter if you are AT&T, verizon, sprint, tmobile, or your mammas service. People WILL have dead zones. Personally I will pay monthly because 90% of my talking is done around my house and 1400 minutes ain’t enough. With this I will save lots if money switching to a far cheaper plan and adding $20. Peace of mind of not worrying about my minutes is worth it. And to you morons that are going to reply with sprints unlimited mobile to mobile …. Ummm no. Because of the heavy minute usage and me being very social I speak mainly to land lines. This is a way for me to ditch a land line COMPLETELY.

So I already pay for RoadRunner internet service and my iPhone. Now AT&T wants me to pay for another service to use one service through yet another service? All to make up for their chronicled shitty service. This is amazingly dumb.

why don't they just support UMA like t-mobile, or make it free service, you just need to buy the box... you can just buy a signal repeater if you have my situation (basement room). http://www.1800mobiles.com/signal-repeater-800-mhz.html
No repeating monthly fees. just good ol' already paid for cell signals.

@mark: This makes much more sense over UMA. With UMA there is other software involved and you have to have a UMA capable handset. This basically does the same thing except it acts as a cel tower and works with any AT&T phone without anything special. This is a much more universal way to do what tmobile did. The only thing different is the price. And that would have still been the difference had they gone with UMA.
