FCC gives Nokia E52 the rose
You won't find the mega-slim (9.9mm, to be exact) E52 in the hands of any businessfolk just yet, but as usual, some FCC lab has the guilty pleasure of putting this one through the RF wringer well ahead of release. The version tested here is a Band I / VIII piece, which means it'll do full HSPA on the 900 and 2100MHz bands -- not exactly what your average North American S60 geek is looking for, but with the crazy precedent the N97 has set for launching in NAM flavor first, who knows what'll happen?

Too bad it's probably not T-Mobile friendly...

Good news, rojslade, it looks like the E52 will be T-Mobile friendly, since it's spec'd as a quad-band phone including 1900 MHz which T-Mobile uses in the USA. I can't wait for this phone to come out. I'm on T-Mobile too, and have been using an unlocked Nokia 6120c for the past few years. The E52 will make a nice upgrade.

I really wish Nokia would be stronger in US and would sell more phones through AT&T... this phone is truly amazing. For me it's either this phone or HTC Hero ... let's see

I keep reading article after article in the business press about Nokia wanting to get more US marketshare with their smartphones. But, when it comes to making products available here, they're still doing a VERY POOR JOB. In their own USA online phone store they only have a handful of smartphones available. And most of those are simply NOT competitive--they're either too expensive or they have no advantage over other US smartphones. Their most competitive phones, sadly, will not work on AT&T 3G frequencies.
MESSAGE TO NOKIA MANAGMENT: Either stop telling everyone (ever since the iPhone came out) that you want more smartphone marketshare in the USA, or get off your slow moving corporate butt and start making more of your phones work properly in the USA!
