BluAnt Wireless' S1 speakerphone reviewed, is well liked

BluAnt, maker of many fine Bluetooth accessories launched the S1in the recent past and CNET's taken some moments to review it. Sure, we've seen gazillions of speakerphones that attach to the visor in your car but this one adds a fairly low price -- roughly $69 -- A2DP support for streaming your tunes, voice answering, and multipoint connectivity to the mix. CNET liked the price, tiny size, and the call quality, but were down on the volume rocker's stiffness, and the fact that S1 doesn't announce the incoming caller's info. We're all for music streaming and answering a call by speaking to it, but if you drive a convertible, you may want to look for something in the higher end that'll handle all the wind noise.

I have a convertible. Who's BT speaker is recommended for rag tops?

The BlueAnt S1 paired with my HTC Touch Diamond announces incoming caller names via MS Voice Command... as well as text messages, appointments, emails, etc. The voice recognition (via MS Voice Command) works really well too!
Also, the A2DP is not for streaming tunes (it only has a mono speaker)... it's best used for streaming GPS navigation voice prompts from your phone with TomTom, Garmin, CoPIlot, whatever, installed.
Anyway, it's a really great in-car speakerphone.

Make sure you read that review - "comes with an AC adapter".
That's right - this thing DOES NOT come with a car charger. Whoever was in charge of that decision should be fired.
The quality of the S1 is not bad, but with the Jabra SP700 on Amazon for under $25, it is obvious that the S1 does not offer much value for money. Its A2DP audio is tinny and it really needs more features at its pricepoint.
