Nokia 7510 comes to Rogers' TalkSpot service
In North America, Rogers has a reputation for getting the most cool GSM handsets the quickest (that's not the only reputation it has, but we won't go there right this second) -- but this is one case where T-Mobile USA beat 'em to the punch by a mile. The Canadian carrier is adding the Nokia 7510 to its TalkSpot-compatible lineup, meaning you'll be able to offload calls to WiFi when you're within range of a hotspot and transfer seamlessly to and from GSM. There's no 3G, but the colorful flip does come with changeable faceplates, a concealed secondary display, 2 megapixel camera with flash, and microSD expansion. Look for it for CAD $49.99 (about $43) on a three-year deal.

I had one with Tmobile. Despite the outward plain appearance,(there's a brown skin that comes with it that makes it look presentable) the inside is pretty cool with a solid overall build It's mostly all chrome including the keypad and a mirrored internal screen. Kind of blinds you when you first open it. Wish I could have kept it but the UMA is hit-and-miss at best. It never found my wi-fi, or any of my neighbors for that matter, Took it back and got a BB 8120 and it has no problem recognizing networks. Found others on the Ho-Forums with the same problem...

You say:
"In North America, Rogers has a reputation for getting the most cool GSM handsets the quickest"
Say wha? I disagree with you almost 100%.

Of course it will not find a Wi-Fi connection, the nokia 7510 doesn't even have wi-fi capabilities lol. Check nokia's website. here is the URL: http://www.nokiausa.com/find-products/phones/nokia-7510/specifications you can also check GSM Arena, same specs.... so you'll never get a Wi-Fi connection. So the rumor of the 7510 on talkspot clearly is wrong. This unit also is not even listed on roger's website nore nokia's website in canada.

T-Mobile sells a WiFi-enabled 7510. http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=Nokia-7510

It does have wi-fi. I own one . Nokia's website is often wrong on their specs. They still show the 6263 NAM version as having a FFC which in fact doesn't have. Here's tmobile specs for the phone. It has wi-fi. Believe it or don't. http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=Nokia-7510 Or perhaps they removed it for Canada?

I was just looking over Tmobiles support pages on this phone. Not sure what this means but it says: WifFi:Yes (UMA only) Guess wi-fi is locked down to UMA with no web browsing on this phone?
dudznyc @ Jun 30th 2009 11:47PM
The Nokia 7510 is WiFi Compatible......UMA is basically for unlimited nationwide calls through the Wi-Fi network as opposed to the regular CELL CITES that run through GSM Carriers.
No it doesn't have the Broadband Speeds for Mobile Web like the Blackberries do for example.
But then again this phone doesn't display REAL WEB BROWSING....so there's basically NO NEED for Broadband Speeds through WiFi.
SO YES THE NOKIA 7510 DOES HAVE Wi-Fi. ONLY through T-Mobile USA & Rogers Wireless...since they've bought out spectrums of Wi-Fi cites throughout North America which allows their customers to make calls over WiFI.

Ok, well it's pretty obvious T-Mobile doesn't know what it's talking about. If the phone had Wi-Fi even just UMA nokia would state it on it's website. Nokia also would not make two different models of the same handset one for the US and one for Canada espically how the one for Rogers (Canadian carrier) is going to have Talkspot support (UMA) on a device that doesn't even have Wi-Fi......
Sloppy Ho @ Jun 30th 2009 9:43PM
I've played around with one from Tmobile. It does have wi-fi. Why Nokia didn't list it is a mystery but it does have it.

That is really weird, I have emailed nokia about it... i'm just waitig on a responce.
