You can refresh all you want but that won't make the 3.0 update for your iPhone appear any faster. In fact, you might want to give your trigger finger a rest for a few hours --
Engadget bud, Richard Lai, noted in a tweet that Apple's Singapore site says that the iPhone OS 3.0 update will release on the 18th while Apple India says the 17th,
the date announced by Apple -- the difference presumably accounting for the 2.5-hour timezone offset between the two countries. That would peg an OS 3.0 release anytime between 1700 and 1930 in London or between noon and 2:30pm in New York. But don't let a little knowledge ruin your obsessive behavior, where's the fun in that?
Update: The theory is supported by reports that carrier
3 in Hong Kong sent a network-wide SMS
notifying iPhone owners that OS 3.0 will be available on June 18th, 01:00 local time. That's 1pm on the 17th in New York, 6pm in London, and 1900 in central Europe.[Via

Come on already, I just can't wait!
Chavdar Sirakov @ Jun 17th 2009 6:52AM
You can find the stuff online I think using the torrent version is going to lock your device as a test unit... I think it has something to do with being a developer's version.
Harkirat Singh Virdi @ Jun 17th 2009 7:36AM
O2 have told me that release time in the UK is 6pm if that helps.
Jimmie @ Jun 17th 2009 7:46AM

Rumour press has it that UK will see it at 6pm, thats 1pm New York. That is all based on reports that carrier 3 in Hong Kong sent a network-wide SMS notifying iPhone owners that OS 3.0 will be available on June 18th, 01:00 local time. That's 1pm on the 17th in New York, 6pm in London, and 1900 in central Europe.
Is this what it feels like to be in the RDF?

Are there two packages to update? I hope it's not screwed up. I got first iPod Update with 277.7MB and now iPod Software Update with 257.8MB. It's taking loooong on the second one, half done and 18 min to go. Yes, iPod Touch waiting for two main things: bluetooth and shake to shuffle. I also wish for something that allows me to remove any icon on this thing. I'm scary to go illegal, so I'll wait for apple.
tom @ Jun 17th 2009 1:19PM
yeah boyeeeeeeeeeeee
tam @ Jun 17th 2009 1:19PM

equals42 @ Jun 17th 2009 1:21PM
What link are you seeing the download available or in iTunes? Some people are not seeing the same thing obviously.
equals42 @ Jun 17th 2009 1:26PM
OK. The website should show "Upgrading is Easy" on the OS 3.0 page. It says to use iTunes 8 to get the software. Click check for updates there and it will start the process. iTunes must not check every time (cached requests or something) since the response was very fast everytime I clicked and then the last time it actually sent packets out (snoop) and returned that the 3.0 software was available. You may be able to restart iTunes and get the same effect if you can't wait.
Just my experience...
Tournstone @ Jun 17th 2009 1:40PM
