You can't open email attachments with this? Why would you want or need this program if not for email attachments? What other reason would somebody need Office files on a mobile device? Are people really going to be typing up a term paper or creating work reports or presentations on their iPhone? In all of my years with Windows Mobile, Palm, Android, or Blackberry I have never created a document. Only viewed through email attachments. So the iPhone can VIEW Office documents received via email, though they can not be saved, and it can edit Office documents transferred to the device mounted wirelessly, but there's no communication between these two apps?

Isn't the whole point of editing documents on your phone relevant so that you can do so with the files received via email? I very rarely bring documents with me that I plan to work on while I'm away from a computer in a day. I only edit documents on my phone if it's critical, and those critical documents get emailed to me.

JonnyBruha

Comments on Quickoffice for iPhone impressions

The iPhone/iPod Touch can view all sorts of e-mail attachments out of the box, including all Office and Office 2007 formats. Yes! So perhaps there is good reason for this limitation. Personally, I would rather deal with this small inconvenience than to deal with a computer infected with a virus or other malware.
