Sony Ericsson's "Bruce" and "Tobey" C905a pictured with AT&T in mind

The Tobey is really where it's at, though. This is the C905a, the big shooter -- literally -- that should do battle with T-Mobile's CS8. It's got an 8.1 megapixel camera with xenon flash in a slider form factor, accompanied by a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Video Share, TV-out, and HTML browsing. Disturbingly, both of these devices have already missed their target availability dates -- and anyone still reeling from the K850 disaster has to be a little concerned that one or both of these could be delayed indefinitely or canceled.

With so many leaked devices for AT&T recently, I'm starting to think that they're all fake.

Not surprising that it's a Sony, but i'd kill to see Xenon and 30fps recording on something that wasn't a dumbphone. Sony needs to hurry up with their X2.

The amount of devices leaked is so huge that I doubt all of these are going to make it. I am starting to think that maybe this was a presentation so that they could choose which devices to sell.

Dear AT&T: Please do NOT cancel this like you did with the K850i, PLEASE!! We need phones like this accessible in the US so we can compete globally, cell phone-wise.

I really hope they release the c905a

did anyone notice that the "Tobey" has "AT&T Video Exchange" ?
that's besides the At&T Video Share.
Could that be "video conferencing" ? that would be a first for an at&t phone!!

Stupid,my W760a has video share, which is like video conferencing. Get with the program! The at&t rep on the phone said the C905 "will be out soon." None, and I mean none,of the at&t employees know when ANY new devices are going to be released. If and when this phone comes out,I'm going to get it!! My upgrade advantage will most likely be in effect;if not,I will just call at&t like I did with the W760a to waive the upgrade fee and get an early upgrade.

the C905a for ATT and CS8 for T-Mobile are almost exactly the same phone so it'll be cool to try them both out and see what the two carriers do to change them in any way.

I would rather AT&T not releasing the c905a. (: It would be nice to know T-Mobile is the only one with this phone. Haaaa.

I swear, SE doesn't know SHIT about designing esthetically appealing phones.

Where was this phone 3 months ago when my contract was up. I had given up on it and was waiting for iPhone III.

I just purchased a C905A a couple days ago, but I'm in Canada on the Rogers Wireless. Pretty damn neat phone except for the propriatary Rogers firmware. Picture/Video recording is quite superb. I'd been waiting for this phone ever since my old K810i died, and couldn't find a good Xenon-flash based phone!

I have been using an unlocked C905 for a few months now in the US and think it's one of the best phones I've ever had. I tried the Samsung INNOV8 (also 8 megapixel) for a few weeks but was really disappointed w/ photo/video quality and the buggy/sluggish OS. I have had most of the Cybershot phones and sometimes I defect to Nokia/Samsung and then come back to SE (I think I've learned my lesson by now).
The C905's OS is really customizable/fast and it's quite easy to install applications. Web browser is solid too. Only downsides are screen size (small-ish for such a powerful phone and lack of headphone jack, which, I hear, will be present in the W995).
Here are the photos/videos that I've taken w/ the C905:

Tobey or c905 or whatever you want to call is already a week & a half late. It's starting feel like cancel. I've talked to both companies, AT&T says its on backorder and we cant give you a price. Sony says, we released to everyone but USA.
mrbrown @ Jul 13th 2009 8:16PM
i went and talked to AT&T people. Yes it is coming out this Sunday(07/19/09)
Pricing was 179.99 if you had an upgrade available and if you signed up for unlimited SMS
what do you think? I am excited. I have seen the quality of photos from this phone and am impressed. I have a k800i and was happy w/ that for candid shots.
very exciting!
