BlackBerry Storm 9530 build 4.7.0.141 leaked, possibly on the way to Verizon release
Want a head start on the very firmware Verizon might be launching next month? If you're a Storm 9530 owner, of course you do -- and like clockwork, it's now been leaked for everyone to enjoy. The version you'll be looking for here is 4.7.0.141, which by our rough calculations is some 28 builds ahead of the 4.7.0.113 we'd previously heard would hit the carrier-branded devices in an official capacity. Hopefully the latest version rocks all the same features, enhancements, and fixes that 113 did, and a whole lot more; let us know how it goes for you if you pull the trigger ahead of Verizon's blessing, yeah?

Considering that .141 has a lock/unlock bug that renders the entire lock function useless, it has next to no chance of becoming an official release. IMHO, .132 was actually a better build.

Agreed on the unlock/lock bug. This will not be official. However, other than that, I think this is better than .132. Faster overall.

Please, it doesn't even have to be this update, it can be any other update. I just can't stand .75 anymore, someone stop the 3 restarts a day!

Don't be intimidated - it's really very easy if you follow the instructions. You'll be glad you did it - .75 vs .132 is like night and day.

I wasn't going to bother with the leaked releases, but .75 was unbearable for me, the keyboard was really laggy and made it almost useless. I can't remember the first leaked version I tried, but it made using the phone a totally different experience and for the better.
I would give it a try, .132 is a good version and should hold you over until an official release. It is actually pretty easy to do, the links Stephen posted will help you. Just be sure to back up your phone before you give it a try just in case.

Where do you get your information from Engadget Mobile? Because just like the guys upstairs said, the unlock/lock bug means this wont be official.

ive downloaded this and by far .141 is the best OS to date, besides the lock/unlock bug.
i think verizon will release a newer (142?) that keeps 141's new features and fixes the bug.
it seems more likely than to release .113

AT&T has also released platform 4.6.0.217 for the Bold (naturally they did it on the 29th, the same day I complained on this site about the lack of an update). In terms of where RIM is with their Bold firmware releases it's a fairly old version, and it adds no new features that I can see, but it does appear so far to improve the speed of the menus and the internet browser just a bit.

Went from .132 to .141 WOW!!! Other than the lock/unlock bug works great! Much Faster!!

I've tried to upgrade to .141 three times now and all have failed. Everytime the current OS gets wiped, the new one installed, it fails at Reconnecting to JVM and my 9530 is stuck with the no OS error on screen of Reload software: 507.
I'll take the lock/unlock bug to have the device actually responsive and faster. :)
