HTC Touch Diamond2 gets unboxed, shown off on video
We haven't heard much about the appearance of the HTC Touch Diamond2 on US shores apart from a few AT&T-related whispers, but the squared-off handset is starting to pop up overseas, and the requisite unboxings and video tours have started flooding in. Sadly, these early units are still running Windows Mobile 6.1, so beauty's only skin deep -- or at least as deep as TouchFlo2 3D. Hardware video after the break, but there's plenty more at the read links.

Why would you take such a nice phone and put it on such a hard awful surface as the pebble stone walkway that is pictured!?!?!?!

I literally just thought the same thing...

I laughed when he couldn't get the SIM card out. I almost cracked that slot on my current phone.
I thought i was the only one that had that problem.

I love the idea of this phone, but the styling is pretty bland. Why couldn't they take it in the direction of the Touch HD?

I love it when mimes do video reviews. It's so informative.

I love how in one of the videos, the guy noticeably has troubles doing some options (turning around pictures, sliding through time periods in the stock app), etc.,
...I guess asking for a UI that works as billed is just too much to ask these days.

The HTC Diamond 2 with Windows Mobile 6.5 will be simply incredible. This new phone will be able to really leverage all of the new stuff in win mbl 6.5. The Windows Mobile contact list will get a huge visual boost and be more touch-friendly as well, with larger menu items and an updated look. Internet explorer mobile, live mesh for mobile, silverlight 2 for mobile, windows media player mobile, windows mobile marketplace,.NET compact framework, .NET mobile, compact framework, and SQL server compact will all look fantastic on this new phone.

HTC is simply genius. This company is very smart and in tune with the market. Using Windows Mobile 6.5 on this phone is a very smart call on their part and I am so excited to see this and their other upcoming models in the US.
