Touch Diamond XV6950 finally hitting Verizon next month?
It's sort of baffling that Verizon Wireless has yet to launch HTC's now aged Touch Diamond, and honestly, we're not even sure that late is better than never in this scenario. While Sprint has had the thing out for a good while now, Big Red has been lallygagging around while staring aimlessly at those spectacular BlackBerry Storm sales figures. Now, phoneArena has it that the XV6950 could finally be arriving on the carrier's airwaves next month, and while it has yet to be confirmed, we're hearing that it shouldn't vary from the Sprint edition in terms of specs -- something that conflicts with information we heard about a century ago. At any rate, we'd ask you to just be patient here, but chances are you're already over this thing, anyway.

Anyone who wanted this phone already has it. Get your head out of your ass Verizon and whats the deal with lowering the RAM???

The BOGO for the BB prolly also had something to do with the wait. I am a BB guy though so don't mind. I think VZW is trying to align themselves to be RIM fav. carrier, even if it cost them a few WinMo sales. Prolly worth it in my estimation.
If they can get the newest BB more times than not, and if the LTE Nokia rumor holds true, VZW haters (right or wrong) won't be able to say they have a weak phone lineup. Heres hoping, eh?

Yes, I hope you're right. I'm tired of seeing all the best hardware going to other carriers. Verizon does have the best network, but much of it goes to waste because of the last-gen and/or crippled hardware. I agree that a favored position with RIM would be worth losing favor with Microsoft or WinMo phone manufacturers, at least until we see what WinMo 7 is like. It seems like all the WinMo handsets Verizon gets are watered down anyway, so what's the point? The only problem I see with this theory is that LG has committed pretty heavily to WinMo and Verizon seems pretty heavily committed to LG. Smartphones aside, I am a fan of LG, but I think I would choose RIM over them for smartphones any day. I hope LG's new WinMo phones go to another carrier and Verizon sticks with HTC and the new Omnia HD for WinMo, then works on getting more Blackberries from RIM.

Verizon is a little late to the party. If I can't get my Palm-pre to work on verizons network, I will be saying bye-bye.

It's outdated and a most annoying phone too.
I've had it for about a week and I hated it almost immediatly. Luckily I managed to give it back and get a HTC touch HD instead, which is OK , even though I prefer my work phone: a Samsung Omnia.
It really surprised me how touchFLO works fine on the touch HD and horribly on the Diamond; probably the screen size makes a bigger difference than I thought possible.

Verizon Sucked and Always will Suck!!
Derick @ Mar 7th 2009 10:18PM
If Verizon sucked, we wouldn't have some of the best ratings in the US.
AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile can never be as good as VZW.
So, you can keep thinking we suck. haha!
