Bell Canada setting the table for Palm's Centro?

Word is that Bell Canada's going to be getting the Palm Centro come February 2nd -- but of course the word is all we have to go on right now. Pricing is rumored to see it launching at $49 on a 3-year special launch price, $199 once that expires, $249 on 2-years, $349 on 1-year,and $399 completely contract-free. We've been all over the Centro in the past on Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and even Rogers. So feel free to peruse any or all to get the important details, mkay?

Seriously, why would anyone want to go for a handset running Garnet at this point? Just hold out a few months and get the pre, for crying out loud. Canada's bound to get a version at the same time as the states -- or at worst a few weeks later.

Yeah, they announced today that they are getting the centro early feb. It dosn't seem to make much sense to alot of people, but then again this is their first palm since the 700wx like 2.5yrs back, so maybe they are putting the toe in the water so to speak. Hopefully the pre will hit bell or rogers up here (saying both CDMA and GSM flavours were announced i believe). Either way, 50 bucks for a centro (and 399 full) isnt too bad of a price for bell for a smartphone compared to their other offerings.

Bell is almost caught up to Q1 2008

Rogers launched this phone a very long time ago in the summer

Yeah, hugely weak, and old. Really, who wants this for the price they're asking?

$199 on a three year contract, they can't be serious. Telstra, here in Australia were offering this handset pre-paid for $179 AU which is about $118.50 US. I knew Canadians were grabbing their ankles with 3 year contracts but this is ridiculous!
