Wow, it's kind of nostalgic to see what could have been, I'm pretty sure I would've bought it had it come out when it first promised. I entered the smartphone arena with the P1i last summer, and although there didn't seem to be that many upgrades on the Paris/P5 in posterity, at the time it seemed like heaven, with the wonderful sliding rocker qwerty. The keyboard was one f the things I loved with the P1i; the ability to write an e-mail or document easily with one hand is a huge advantage for me.
As things turned out, the most attractive phone availible when my contract ended this summer was the HTC Touch Pro, and I can't say I regret it. In a pinch I can use the keyboard with one hand, and given that this was the only thing counting in favour of the Paris, I'm happy now.
Still sad that this one never made it to market. The X1 innards put into this shell would certainly be a killer.
