I saw someone with a BB Bold at the Troubadour in LA last night. He was taking a picture of the band. Looked good, but the screen seems pretty small with the status bar on the bottom.

John Mayer is one of the most talented artists around these days, you may not particularly like his lyric content, but if you're that close minded that you can't appreciate his talent, especially on guitar, then you should just give up on music forever. That said, blackberry also sponsors all the JM tours, hence, he gets all the new shit first. You and your small mind probably don't understand just how many people will go out and buy this just because John Mayer has one.

i have to agree, though not 100%. People are not likely to purchase a BB Bold simply because JM has it, though they will see that someone famous has a really cool phone, do some research on it, and eventually find themselves at the Verizon or AT&T store looking at RIM phones. And I think most of yall are forgetting something very important, if ur on engadget, ur generally in the know of todays cellular devices, but to the general 17-magazine-reading world, there are 4 cell phones in existence: the plain vanilla sony-ericsson freebie with contract, the over-exhausted razr, the LG Chocolate (and other flavors), and, of course, Apple's iPhone. Most people have heard of the BlackBerry, but not the Curve, the Bold, etc. Marketing-wise, this is a great form of celebrity endorsement that could actually get some people out of iPhone lust and into BlackBerry lust. Though thats just an opinion.

Stop whining because John Mayer has the new Blackberry. He just started up a record label and has one of the hottest releases in the country right now (Estelle's Shine) co-produced with Atlantic. If anyone, he deserves it, and no, I'm sure he is not reading this bullshit forum about the new blackberry. That said, the new BB does look cool, and I'll try to cop one when I get back in the states.
