A quick visit to HTC's CTIA outpost yielded dividends in the form of two little gems announced this week: the
American version of the HTC Touch Dual and the
Verizon XV6900, a bleached Touch with a Verizon logo slapped in place of
the Sprint one. Both of these phones are rehashes of existing products, and there's really very little to say about them -- other than a heartfelt "yippee," we suppose, seeing how they're both intended for 3G in North American markets. We really enjoyed the appearance of the XV6900 -- white's definitely a color that suits it well, and while the bright shell's probably going to keep it out of the office, we think Verizon might have a consumer-market smartphone winner on its hands. They could have really had a consumer hit if they didn't nix the GPS and Rev-A. Still a good phone though.

Just received Verizon's version of the HTC (touch) 6900
My comments are;
very disappointed.
difficult to set up, screen is difficult to use, as it is a "press VERY hard screen" instead of a touch screen. Use of the stylus is necessary 90% of time.
NO GPS.
Microsoft 6.0 does not seem any different than 5.0. Must be a change in there somewhere.
I waited for this 6900 for months. Can't tell you how disappointed I am. Did I mention there is no GPS nor even Verizon navigation.
Verizon agent misrepresented this phone. Said it was similar to iPhone so I would not have to leave Verizon coverage. Close would have been fine. This phone is not even in the same universe. I am hopefull 3G/CDMA coverage will be as good or maybe better.
I'll be returning this 6900, switching to AT&T and waiting for new version of iPhone. Currently have iTouch which took 3 minutes to set up. I'm now into 6 hours with 6900 and still confused. I didn't think I was an Apple advocate/user, but I am now!

I just purchased the 6900 I can't tell you how great it is! I am very familiar with the iPhone & the 6900 is much more user friendly. Very light weight & much more stylish. Not certain where people are getting the wrong information about 6900 and it not having GPS - Because mine has it. And the touch screen works easily - I have not used the stylus yet! I would certainly recommend purchasing this phone.

This phone is very slick, and easy to use. Of course it's not similar to the iPhone, as it's not an iPhone. If you want to add 3rd party software you can get flick technology that makes it much easier, but is not needed. Bonus, removable battery, Verizon can cover the full customer service, which the customer service is far superior to AT&T anyways, and you don't have to deal with both the phone company and the device manufacturer as you do with the iPhone. Also you get a discount so your not forced into the full price of the phone, and you get a true 3G network, and not the sadly crippled access AT&T access the iPhone has.
If you want a phone for test and calls, please don't buy this phone, or any PDA. Just get a standard phone, because you are not yet ready for a PDA.
