I'd include the RIAA and MPAA in that statement except the only reason why they still exist is cause of their money and control of congress.
And any good press that Verizon is getting at this point is basically because it's the only other real competition for cell phone service ("other" meaning other services than ATT of course).

CB17

Comments on Engadget Mobile's top posts, 2007

Nah it's mostly Elgee responding to them and promoting his company.

fyreblazer

Comments on Engadget Mobile's top posts, 2007

fryeblazer you'll notice the vast majority of my comments are in response to anti-VZW trolls, like yourself ;-)

elgee02

Comments on Engadget Mobile's top posts, 2007

Hey don't blame us, it's not OUR fault VZW sucks. There wouldnt be a need for all of the copy protection if people didn't think it was ok to copy and send copyrighted games/music/operating systems etc at will. There is no reason to hate the RIAA and MPAA if you are legally purchasing your music/dvds/videos/games etc. If you aren't legally purchasing those things you are stealing, same as walking into a store picking up a dvd/cd/game and walking out of the store without paying. Sorry I have no love for the pirates and thiefs that make closed systems a necessity in the digital age. I personally hate all of the extra copyprotection schemes too, but there is a reason why these companies choose to do it.

trooth

Comments on Engadget Mobile's top posts, 2007

The RIAA and MPAA certainly have the right to get credit and make money on their content but the way they've gone about doing it (especially with the DRM) is completely inexcusable and LISTEN TO THIS PART: Isn't hurting ANYONE except for the people trying to buy stuff legally. The pirates DON'T care and just laugh at them.
When you put rootkits on people's computers the line has WELL been crossed, whoever was involved with that should be sent to a little island to starve to death.

CB17
