Updated AT&T availability dates!
Like pretty much everything else in life, carriers' launch dates tend to slip, sometimes to the extreme (oh, come on, you can't tell us you've never procrastinated to the point where you couldn't make a due date!). To that end, we've gotten an updated look at AT&T's expected drop dates, and it seems like the wait has gotten a little longer for a few of the more anticipated handsets in the pipe. Some devices like the red version of the Nokia 6555 have slipped a couple weeks, while others -- the lowly Samsung A127 comes to mind -- have actually moved up. The Pantech Duo has also been pushed out from October 9 to the 30th, possibly to give the just-launched Tilt a little breathing room in the spotlight. Click on for the full list![Thanks, Kal-El]
Update: A second source is telling us that the Duo is still tracking for shipment "on or about" the 9th. Of course, the proof is in the pudding -- but either way, at least we'll be getting our Duo on before the month's out.

That's what she said.

Do I dare ask why the dates have been pushed (in some cases) substantially back?
The W580i Black is the one I'm waiting on...
Christian @ Oct 4th 2007 11:39PM
Just watch out for the number keys, a lot of them have had problems with cracking.
John @ Oct 5th 2007 4:34PM
I think they have fixed the keys. I've had my W580 for several weeks (in UK), no problems at all.

And T-Mobile is just going to let their asses get kicked by AT&T... lol
TMo has like 3 phones out this month. AT&T has like 50. LOL!
Mog @ Oct 4th 2007 4:20PM
Samsung Beat, Motorola W495 (in black, green, and purple), HTC Shadow (in brown and green), Motorola RAZR2 V8, Sidekick LX (in brown and blue)...and that's just the phones I know/care about. I know there's at least a few low-end devices coming this month, like a new Samsung flip, and T-Mobile might also be launching their 3G network in select (very select) test markets, with a 3G Samsung (similar to Alltel's Hue) and Nokia in tow.
I'm not a T-Mobile fanboy (anything but - I actually switched from them after a sucky customer service experience) but to say they're getting their "asses kicked" with their "three phones" is just retarded. T-Mobile has just as many noteworthy devices launching this month as AT&T does - expect to see big marketing pushes with the Shadow, the RAZR2, and (of course) the Sidekick LX.
Back on topic: I can't wait to see AT&T's A737. Lime? Orange? Who knew a Samsung could be so funky? It seems handset manufacturers in general are getting more bold with their color choices (also see: green and purple W495, brown and green Shadow, mohagany RAZR2), and it's a trend I'd like to continue. Apple: Where's my green iPhone?

Whatever happened to the AT&T version of the Nokia N95?
raulr @ Oct 4th 2007 4:37PM
@Wiz. AT&T 3G compatible N95 is out and available. Just not subsidized by AT&T. You have to buy it from Nokia.
caz @ Oct 4th 2007 4:23PM
Just returned from Europe where my phone works BETTER than it does on AT&T's network.
Christian @ Oct 4th 2007 11:37PM
Finally, a solid date for the Duo! Sucks that we have to wait til the end of this month though.
carlos @ Oct 5th 2007 12:50AM
I dont Know what the hell is happening to this company .i amhave been waiting for 3 months for a good phone after they discontinued the cu500 and nothing coming out .i am having second thoughs.
all the other phones they have now are crap.as might as well stay with verizon.
dixonij @ Oct 5th 2007 6:01AM
Grr @ the Duo release date... I was REALLY hoping it would be launching next week on the 9th. I had to hold off updating my phone while the rest of my family got new ones because I'm holding out for the Duo. Looks like my LG F9200'll have to do for another few weeks. *sigh*
Decab @ Oct 5th 2007 7:10AM
the duo sucks. i got training on it today. its flimsy, its very small in size and is kinda thick. i dont see anything good about it- it just felt cheap.
dixonij @ Oct 5th 2007 3:31PM
Wow.. I hope that isn't the case. I've been looking forward to this since it was announced.
Randall @ Oct 5th 2007 2:36PM
No date for the Blackberry Pearl 8120?
kashif @ Oct 5th 2007 10:00PM
I still think it'll be the 9th for the Duo. Forget the spotlight, remember last year? The 8525 and the Blackjack came out on the exact same day. The Blackjack was pretty much in the spotlight, and they geared the 8525 towards the business crowd. Judging by the language in the press release, they'll do the same for the Tilt, and advertise the hell out of the Duo. Just wonder if people will call it the Ocean...
aetherdeus @ Oct 7th 2007 8:41AM
Now, here's a question: Tilt, Duo or N95? They're all smartphones with multimedia/GPS/wifi/etc - but why pick one over another? Whats the Tilt got @ $399 that the N95 doesn't? Or the Duo, which is the cheapest of the 3? I need a new phone and am having a helluva time figuring that out.
Steven @ Oct 9th 2007 10:39PM
Well, if you can do without a QWERTY keyboard and do not like WM, the N95 is a hell of a phone. If a small phone (and want to save cash) is what you are after, the DUO should fit the bill. If you have experience with the 8525, and want something similar, go with the Tilt.
AlohaD @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:49PM
Is anyone else upset with the Q9 release date?
cellphonepmp @ Oct 26th 2007 1:24AM
Just recieved our first DUO in store today. We got shipped ONE handset! Hopefully we get more soon.
