Palm looses Vista-compatible Desktop Beta
We know, this whole Vista-friendly Palm Desktop software was supposed to be launched, you know, about the same time as Vista itself, but we suppose late is better than never in this scenario. Without further ado, users yearning for a Vista-compatible flavor of Palm Desktop can finally claim their prize -- if you're down with betas, that is. Thankfully, Palm has made sure you're well aware of the limitations found in the software's current state (at least the ones it knew of), so be sure and give those instructions a once over while the 59.2MB file transfers over to make sure you don't fudge anything up.[Via The Official Palm Blog]

Since I'm due for a new phone on Verizon, the only way I'm sticking with Palm is whether they put out the Palm 800w with wifi before Samsung puts out the SCH-i760. At the moment, I'm thinking Samsung is going to beat Palm.
I can't imagine being a Palm user and a Vista user for this long without having access to installing apps to my Palm Pilot, or being able to backup. How many poor saps are out there that have had this problem?

Well, different story, but same situation. I have a 700w on Verizon and I can't sync or backup because I have OSX and haven't thrown down the cash for Missing Sync just yet. I send everything to my device via bluetooth and email attachments. Rather pathetic, but it gets me by for now.
I too am waiting for the i760 or new Treo to come out, I'm still not sure which one I'll pick yet.
